Why is ouran high school always compared to Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya?
Personally ouran high school host club closely resembles more like a cross between Kasimasi and He is my master more than The melancholy of haruhi suzumiya. Can anyone try to convince me otherwise cause i dont see a tie in between those two (haruhi and ouran)

I think its more because of when they aired. The shows aired at around the same time and had somewhat similar themes (romance, high school life). the way shows went about this were completly different but the fact that they aired close to each other and shared those 2 themes probably caused some people to think of them together. It also helps when the main character of both shows has the same name lol.
But the stoory...i think it is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different

Yeah, the story is completly different and the way the characters develop/behave are very different as well but i guess when people think fo one show they sometimes think of another. I know I think of both shows since they both have a character with the same name and I was watching both shows at the same time as well

I personally dunno how you meant "compared", as for the topic, i can give you an answer tat, just maybe, they are both pretty good ones, as for melanchonly of suzumiya haruhi which is in top 50 in www.animenfo.com, and they are both 2006 anime, which most people wud focus on^^ personally i think melanchonly is better, ouran is pretty funny, but melanchonly is better^^

I've always thought Ouran and Azumangah Daioh were the two sides of the same coin, both of them show a group of boys/girls in school, daily actions and have strange humour.

The reason theyre compared - Two good Anime that finished in 2006, good anime is always compared regardless of genre.
Maybe because they have cool Haruhi's! hehe... But I prefer watching Ouran Host Club! Loved that anime... wish there would be another season of it! :)

Much different, just because its a series about girls and boys at a school, that doesnt mean that they are alike.

Really?? dese shows are alwayz compared?? imma agree with alot of pplz here & say that da only thing dey hav in common waz that dey aired @ da same time & both are great shows in their own right & never should b compared 2 each other but hey dats just my 2 cents xD

Ouran has more of homosexual humor from what i've seen, Haruhi has more of a daily life humor which i like waayyy better.
Speaking of Ouran theres alot of homosexual innuendo in that show, i think they couldve done funnier stuff than incest homosexuality and lolicon humor among other things.
