Here is another wallpaper, and one that I rather like. it's entitled "All that you cannot leave behind"

The scan is from Noien from here in animepaper (search for it... sorry, too lazy to search for the link, but its here!)
and the background is a compiliation of two photos, one from ssilence on deviant art and one of my own to wash out the background and highlight the ray of light. Then I dodged and burned the background, dodged and burned, doged and burned ... until i was satisfied!!

any and all comments are appreciated, my main concern is the coloring of the girl. I kept it fairly true to its original scan, just deepening it a bit etc. but i am not sure if she blends in well enough, or if standing out is the way to go ;)

The only thing I can see wrong with this is the hair has some weak spots, which are in all actuallity probably not weak, but the thick outlines on the rest of the charachter make it seem that way.

The extraction is nice the colors are nice...but what's up with that tree? Its a little random...I think you should either put more trees or have no trees at all. That might look better :D But that's just my opinion.

You are a very direct user of textures, i see. o_O isn't that the pink splatter texture from DA! ? lol first time i've been able to tell that on first glance and also name a source site. xP most people just turn the blend mode to overlay/soft light and leave it. (and i think i recognize the star texture from DA in your other wall...unless i'm imagining things today ^^;) but it works as a bg.

anyway, the character looks quite nice. um...yeah, the solitary tree IS rather awkward. and I think this wall deserves at least some chances with other fonts. xD anyway, work on it a bit and then we'll see where this goes from there. =)

*chuckle* thanks for the comments, and i like the spotting of the textures... good eye! I beleive you are correct (however, he encourages you to use the textures), I am not sure if the star one is from the same site; however, i have seen similar ones around fairly often, so its entirely possible.

As i mentioned, i am a bit of a minimalist and do prefer to use textures in a more raw format. However, in this case, I do think that the texture is a bit too much, and i will probably blend it in a bit more. I am thinking i will keep the font simple, but you are quite right that another one is needed (i have been changing it so much that i am sick of fonts now!!).

Finally, after re-looking at the idea for the wallpaper, i agree that i need something else other than the tree as the background (probably something more from the anime series itself??) so the quest for appropriate imagry starts now!! If you have any suggestions, please let me know :D
