I like animes that make me smile (comedy, action, adventure, romance-only a little).
Also those that crack me up and have a good story line. Characters also have to interest me. It can't be too complex, hence boring, or dark and angsty. They have to make you feel warm at heart to some extent when watching them.
That's the kind of animes I like.

I like anime with no plot such as Azumanga Daioh and Ichigo Mashimaro, but Mahou Shoujo is my favourite type of anime ^_^. Anything with a romantic story to it is also good ^_^.

For me, I like action, humor, mystery and comedy. I want the characters are very funny and making mistakes.
I'm more of an action anime person. One of the most outstanding animes' I can think of is the Stand Alone Complex seasons from Ghost in the Shell. That anime has the perfect mixture of action and involved thought process. It really makes you think and that's part of it magic, your drawn in more and more as the season progresses. Another is Death Note, I've only seen the 11 episodes that are out, but from what I can tell it's already shaping up to be a lot like GITS. It also makes you think and keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the suspense it has. The action isn't as plentiful as it is in Stand Alone Complex but it's got enough for what it is.
Mostly I like animes that are a bit of horror or thriller, I like when they are mysterious and you have to wonder over them after watching an episode.
But I also like comedy and romance all depending on the story.

I like fantasy, but a bit of everything would be nice; romance, comedy, shonen
I wouldn't say that there is an anime type that I like,I mean for me the story has to be interesting.Well I oculd talk more baout the aniem types that I dislike...I dislike yaoi, yuri and those who are too violent and the type that are too showing to watch so anything that isn't included here it works okay with me.Well I could say I prefere more the type of shoujo, fantasy anime!
I like action and fantasy type anime and some that have a it of horror.

I think I like thrillers most.
I like to be kept in suspense and really get into the anime.
I can do this with thrillers.
I also like romance.
But not shoujo, I prefer josei.
Emotions in josei seem more real to me.

Me, I tend to favor to the series with the cute characters. I mean I watch all kinds of category's like action (Cowboy Bebop), romance/drama (Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien), Sci-fi(Vandread), Cult (Texhnolyze). I like to switch between categories and keep things fresh. Sometimes after a series like Saikano needs to be countered with a series like Slayers.
I like anime filled with action and comedy...and a deep meaning that you can take away from it, because I hate just mindless violence. And what characters look like isn't so much an issue to me, because what I'm really into is the story.
I like long animes with deep history and characters (FMA, Naruto, Bleach), humour (Ouran, Azumangah Daioh), action with gore (Gantz, Elfen Lied) and music (Beck, Gravitation).
Anime that make me feel the emotion in it, or understand the hero's feelings. Tons of action and comedic intervention makes the story good too. A strong plot and musical score always wins me over though. Rurouni Kenshin always gets me in the heart, like Beck, and Air Gear.
