This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Ah, I see. So after approving is possible to change to even a not listed resolution.

^hatesyou 21 minutes ago
The first was a 4:3 wallpaper. The low res widescreen version has been added later.

°akiranyo 23 minutes ago
Kath: That means that the first was 1440x900?

^hatesyou 25 minutes ago
The 1280x800 version has been uploaded by the user as a first revision. Might pay to get your facts straight before complaining.

°akiranyo 28 minutes ago
We should go up with resolutions not down. Btw AP resizes 1440x900 automatic to 1280x800.

Oh, fellow widescreen users eh

~thebigfatwhale 29 minutes ago
Im glad, because 1280x800 fits my laptop screen :3

°akiranyo 39 minutes ago
Hmmm, AP makes such a big fuss about resolutions, but I see again a 1280x800 being accepted. Not even listed.

You need to work a little the extraction of the characters and also to work more the background so that they combine perfectly.

Good luck with your wall hopes to see the soon in the gallery.

I think the edges of the mist are a little bit too hard/sharp. Perhaps you should soften it out a bit with Gaussian Blur or something like that. ;D

Well i think that you can work on the sky... and add a moon and some gray/dark clouds...
Also you can work some more on the buildings.. cause i don't like them all in that red color... maybe you can just color some parts... like stains.. or light red lights coming out from the dofferent windows lol (that would sure look pretty interesting)
Also you can add some blood on the guy's sword...
and you need to work some more on the fog.. cause the left part is not looking soo well... try erasing it there.. and make it again..
Also i think you should try another text style... i'm sure you can find one that fits better than this one..
Nice work!...
goodluck!!
kisses...

Yeah.. really nice.

But - is it because of the compression... don't know - I see some stripes on the left hand side:

Also... the moon should possibly not be placed there or is this house a ruin?
Perhaps you should try to place it somewhere between the two houses. oO
Better to say between the left houzse and the man's head. ^^

Hi there...
well the fog still needs some work... do not paint it... just do some brush strokes... (sorry but you will have to erase the left side of the fog again..)
About the sky... i think you should move the hole thing (moon + clouds) more to the right side, so that the moon be between the two buildings... you can also add some lighting around the moon so that the sky look more realistic.
and... work some more on the buildings.. if my last suggestion seamed a bit difficult to make (i mean... to add some red lightings or red stains)...
just download some grungy brushes and play around with red colors... then turn down the opacity of the layer.. and it will sure look interesting ^_^ (hope you understand what i mean, if you have any questions just ask)
goorluck!
kisses..

One thing about fog is that smudging can do wonders. and i see those horizontal lines in your fog to the left side of saya and haji (is that his name? i don't remember) =/ what are those defined edges in the mist from? it doesn't look like something that comes from compression... please look into it.

another thing, it's kind of odd that the buildings are completely desaturated while the scan and the moon are not. you can use color adjustments to had a subtle color to the buildings, perhaps brown/sepian or something.

move the moon too. at that location, it makes one stop and think: how is that possible? that's mainly because the perspective/angle of the building does not match that of the scan...not sure about the moon though because i suppose you would see it as a crescent no matter what angle you look at it from. and a slight glow (along the outer curve, since the moon is spherical) might work nicely.

and lastly, i find the glows on the scan a bit odd. the stuff on the blade, that's okay. but the orange glow haji's forehead and ear, and on his side look odd. it might not have been out of place in the original scan (if it can with the scan) due to their environment, but in their new setting, the glow is unexplained.

what can i say: with haunted walls, you can't go wrong with some textures ;P play around with this some more and update! ^^

Hi there...
now this looks much better...

anyway the fog still need some fixing... i can see the horizintal white line of the fog...

also i think you need to erase all the clouds of the sky.. and also erase the cloud/fog behind him... and make new clouds but behind all the layers that you have there... cause the clouds need to look far.. behind the buildings.. and around the moon

Also get rid of the red around the moon and try a dark blue.. cause a red color for the sky doesn't make much sence..

The buildings on the left side look blurry now...
have you dupplicated the layer and moved it a bit?¿? or have you made new strokes of the brush on top??... well it seams that you haven't made them on the same place cause the image looks moved (blurried)... (if you have made new brush strokes.. well get rid of them... and better go to --->layer---> duplicate layer... and don't move the picture... just work on it in that position

And about the text... yes there are some nice fonts on that site... www.dafont.com download some and tryed them on the wall... try the cathegories of horror style.. distorted.. or destroy... you might find something good there..
goodluck!
kisses..

You've still got some straight distinct edges...or edge. there is one that cuts right across haji's neck and the top of saya's head. as well, your mist is not very misty... mist as a whole has a pretty even reflectiveness, which is quite low. it must look hazy, not shiny. and for your mist, there are obvious bright curves through out, which looks rather like the highlights reflecting off the folds in some smooth shiny fabric. smudge! smudge away. ^^

could you perhaps rotate the building on the left side a bit, it's somewhat too tilted. perspective is really important in a wall.

as well, your other building (behind and to the right of the scan) is too sharp in contrast to the one on the left, which seems slightly blurred. and that building on the right also has some unsmooth/pixellated windows? maybe i'm seeing things. @_@ anyway, that building on the right also isn't as reddish brown as the other one. tonal consistency keeps the pieces looking like they came from the same source.

the moon should have a softer edge. and the red there is a bit too red. you have a rusty brown color scheme, so please stick to that. and i wouldn't put blue...just because you have a monochromatic color scheme and you don't want to start getting into other colors. but make it more brownish, and that should be fine.

that's all i can think of and remember from my look at your update. so keep working on this one. :]
