I love FMA! I havn't got very far in it yet though... i think i'm at about episode 8? but so far it's really funny and good. It is also rated like number 1 anime right now, so i expect great things from it. and I love how they make fun how short he is... ^-^ lol

I like the fact that the comic is different from the show. It brings up an all new interest. Id say that FMA is one of my favorite all time shows simply because of the story and animation. You can tell how much effort the animators put into it.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a well-thought, interesting manga, the manga is definitly better than the anime. I love the story plot, the story has it's own country and places, the setting is different from other manga series. The setting is in the 19th century and has it's own unique theme.The characters are well developed and even their names are so developed ( Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric, etc.) One of the reasons I love FMA is that Arakawa-sensei put so much detail into the story, for example the first law of Equlvalent Exchange, it absolutly makes sense, I didn't have to read it over and over again to understand, like I said it is a wonderful manga, Arakawa-sensei I salute you ^_^

It differs from the anime starting at the greed arc,and it follows a new plot that even the anime lovers can enjoy. it also doesn't look like it will end anytime soon.
I've got FMA on DVD but I haven't actually got around to watching it although I hear its ends up with a different story. Manga's continuing and the development there has been great, although a bit slow.
I LOVE FMA!^-^ It is such a wonderful show/manga! My fav character is Al *giggles* he is sooo CUTE!

So uh... does anyone like Riza Hawkeye and Roy as a couple? Just wondering ......
I love FMA, I've watched all of the show but I 've only read a couple of the manga. What did everyone think of the movie? I haven't seen it yet but I have a special edition one on preorder from amazon but it won't come in until November and it's driving me crazy =( The animation is so gorgeous on the show. I like it because it has an excellent plot and even though most of it is serious they still have lots of funny parts.

Yeah, Al is great, but how can he make those faces with armor? lol.I've been trying to find some of Arakawa's other work but I can't get much info on it. I know she did a couple of manga before FMA but I guess they weren't released outside Japan or something...?

Absolutely! They're so perfect for each other, Hawkeye babysits Roy and keeps him from slacking off. XD And Riza's seriousness complements Roy's laid-back attitude. In fact, "Royai" is the term accepted by most FMA fans for Roy x Riza, it's a really popular pairing. ^^
By the way-- what do you guys think about the FMA doujinshi out there?
FMA is my all-time favorite manga and anime, and I love seeing other artists' work; a lot of the doujin out there are really good and the art is fantastic, but I think there are WAY too many yaoi/M-rated doujin. I'm just not interested in that stuff, but sometimes it's hard to tell what you're getting before you read something. I've found sometimes they aren't labeled for content, or worse several doujin come in a "batch" and you get some ugly stuff in addition to what you actually want to see.
I found one site (http://catystorm.livejournal.com/689431.html) with a lot of doujin downloads to choose from, and the ones with inappropriate material have warning labels. PLEASE read them first. ^^;;
I 've already seen the movie saf, believe me it's the one of the best movies I've ever seen. I also agree with you saf, the animation is gorgeous. I'm still sad about Hughes...
Riza and Roy is my fav pairing in FMA, Riza obviously has feelings for Roy, their devotion and loyalty makes them a powerful couple. ( I'm not sure if it makes sense, I'm not very good at Engilsh )

sophie123I 've already seen the movie saf, believe me it's the one of the best movies I've ever seen.
I thought it was horrible in relavance to the actual storyline. It was mostly based on the Nazi party/war in Amestris. Little detail is brought forward when speaking of the original plot and it's mostly just tied up with the theatrical version by throwing in some of what of a relationship between the two worlds. I thought the last eps were the peak, and the movie was a plunder.

I've seen the trailer for the movie. It seemed pretty interesting to me. They even have Al ( now back in his body )
