If you were the ONLY one offered to live forever...
If you were offered to be the ONLY person to live forever, would you accept this offer or would you rather live a mortal life like the rest?
I've always personally wondered about this...and I thought maybe I could get some people's opinions ^_^.

It seems that I wasn't specific enough on the question...
okay...when you live forever...that means you CAN'T die...you can't kill yourself...you can't die of sickness...etc...etc...etc...and you don't get old...because your body doesn't plan on getting old and die...unless you like being old...but if I were to accept exclusive eternal life...I'd like to be young ^_^

I`d just stick with my mortal life like everyone else. In the end I`d be completely alone because everyone who was important to me would have passed away....and the last thing I want is to be completely alone .__.

I wouldn't mind to be the one living forever, but it really wouldn't be fair to others. I don't care about being lonely, since I prefer to be a loner. But, it's always good to live a life that also has death. If I live forever, it just wouldn't be the same.
Sorry if this is going off topic but since I think after we die, we're just gone, living forever would be a definite plus. What is there to show you ever existed? A grave? A picture? Things like that can be made so easily these days. Therefore, I think living forever would be good, even if you are alone. You would prove your own existence.

...hmmm.....Well just something about what Thicket said, I don't think I need to prove my existance, if people forget about me what will I care I'm dead!! I don't expect others to remember me forever. But I wouldn't want to be the only immortal, maybe...if there were others. But I think it could get very depressing, everyone you love would die but you're still there. But there are some good things about it so ya. Like you could be extremely skilled in whatever areas you wanted to be, because you have all the time in the world to learn. It could be a very interesting life. But most people want to what death is like, you know what happens after you die, but you'd never get to find out.

I couldn't live forever.. to see ALL of my loved ones pass on and for me to still be around.. for everyone i care about in mylifetime will never stay at my side b/c i will always outlive them. it seems, to me, to be a very painful existense with its brief stabs at love and passion..
besides, it also means you'd age at a much slower rate.. so while you WOULD be young for probably a VERY long time, you'd be old for a very long time as well.. not fun.. so if i were EVEN to consider living forever it would have to be at a particular age range, and i'd have to have someone by my side who would love and stay with me..
but another point is that i'm not even sure if 'd like to see the world's future.. i'm not always sure if the future is a bright or bleak one.

Immortality... a good thing would be all the knowledge you can gather through years, centuries of knowledge, that would be great. On the other hand, everyone that is important to me would have passed away and I don't like that. I prefer my mortal life than immortality.

Hmm... me? Nah, I'll stick with my mortal being. Like what other people say, it'll get really lonely with everyone I know passing away and having to 'restart' each time.
Hmm...reminds me of Ed's and Al's dad from FMA. imo i wouldnt think it'll be very fun since the longer you live, the more regrets and the more bad memories you'll have. after all, time moves forward and the things that are left undone will haunt you forever.
