For example sending viruses and using the net against you, watching your house and calling you and making implied threats and sending letters wanting you back--I mean like an ex that is psycho but isnt doing anything illegal enough to get the authorities involved. What would you do??

I had this kind of problem with someone before... I just stopped answering my mobile phone for a while when the number of the person showed up or when it was a number I didn't recognize...
I had the advantage that the person did not know my exact adress...
Ignoring seems to be a good solution to me...

Just be careful. I know you said it's not illegal enough to get the authorites involved, but you don't really want to take a chance on him doing something like that right?
If it keeps going on you could check into filing harassment charges (depending on where you live I guess). Don't make an empty threat of it (ie. threaten to file charges but never do it), but if it keeps going on you could let him know 'one more thing and i'll press charges'.

I had a friend in the air force that always seemed to pick up a lot of stalkers. We got transferred together and it seemed like every base there were 2 or 3 guys that were constantly hounding her about going out with them. She'd even get emails letting her know what she was doing the day before and stuff like that. Eventually I started sleeping on her couch and everybody assumed we were in a relationship...that stopped some of the stalking. One guy kept at it for a while, but she'd just call me over whenever he showed up and I'd kinda confront him. Nothing bad, usually I'd just hold her hand and wave at the guy...let him know I knew he was there, and why, and that I was there to be with her. He stopped after a little while as well.

I had a friend who was dating this psycho chick, she was really posesive over his time. She even hired somebody to follow him and tell her whatever he did when he wasn't with her. I don't know how he managed to get rid of her. He didn't told us because he was mad at us because we used to make fun of him and his psycho chick. >_<"

Well i've neva been stalked before but my cousin has. she is very pretty and i love her^^ anyways there was this guy who wanted to get with her but she just broke up with sombody and wasn't ready for a realationship. that day on he kept callin' her, e-mailin', and as times went by he ims her and says be wit me or else! my cousin was so scared but got over it and found her a man now the guy doesn't bother her anymore

I have been stalked now for about two years by an ex boyfriend. I am even married now but he still shows up periodically to be annoying or pulls stunts. All I can say is be sure you totally know someone before you ever let them know your life. If you have a feeling in the back of your mind saying something isnt right-ru away and go very far.

I think that's creepy since i have a stalker myself as well. o_0. Which makes me mad sometimes just to remind myself about it. But i'd probably just try and tell myself or keep telling myself that i don't have a stalker who's stalking me right now to stay calm. But that's only me.

I would be strong and talk to the stalker face-to-face! xD I have a stalker myself, but it's not a threatening one. Just some guy who has a huge crush on me! LOL.

I did all of that but you cant stop the mail from certain people (post cards) and you cant stop them from driving by your house or knocking on your door and coming over. I could have gotten a restraining order but he knows how to operate inside the law since he is an old guy and a pillar of the community he is from. Hopefully he has stopped now since it has been a month since he pulled anything but I never know since he disguises himself in emailes as other people I know and even made an email address like my husbands only on a different server and tried to say he was him when we were just dating. Like I said just know the people you date so these psycho's dont get tto much info about you and use it against you.

Change your e-mail, your phone is a good way to do it...bu i think just ignore it...ignore it ignore and IGNORE it...if you chang your e-mail, or sumething else like that, he will stalkiing you more, knowing that you not comfortable with it...and he will do it again and again...IGNORE him, trust me, 1 week, 2, a month, a year...he will get bored eventually for bothering u...just keep it cool...2 times i already have the same cases, my ex stalking me, again and again...but i IGNORE him, and for 2 weeks he go dissapere...huh...take that you stalker!!...just kick his ass if he dare to do sumething at your door... >_<

Well, first off, i don't have the net at home, and either way i would never get a web cam so she can't spy on me that way.

As far as the phone goes, i would obtain call display and then simply not answer the phone if she calls.

And well letters, if she handwrites the address, if you recognize her writing, then simply throw it away, shred it.
