If you have any questions about tarot !!
You can ask me here ga ~~

I must say that all of the readings that I have done for myself end up being quite accurate. I still haven't memorized all of it so I have to keep the instuction booklet with me, but I can do a really extensive reading with time.
I don't know if those predictions work out. If they do work out, aren't you letting the cards decide what you will do?
I know a bit of tarot and bought this cool deck with references to the leyend of King Arthur (for example, the magician card has a picture of Merlin ^^)
I'm interested in all these foretelling things but I never believe it 100%... I like experimenting with occultism.
After some years reading and experimenting, I've came to several conclusions.
1.The cards/runes/etc help you focus on your intuition and probably don't have any power by themselves. I discovered I had a good, yet undeveloped, intuition.
Example:
-When I used to read the cards at school, I told my classmates: "don't ask me anything, because the cards are suppoused to "read your mind", ok? Let's see if they have some power."
Funny thing is, I was quite accurate. That or they pitied me for being so wrong that they agreed on everything. I'm very antisocial so I never knew what was going on with their lives, but for some reason, I got accurate descriptions of their personalities/boyfriends/situation, and based on that mysteriously aquired knowledge and with more flashes I could even give them advice. All in a flash of intuition as I looked the cards. That's why sometimes you see people getting reading that don't really match the meaning of the cards from books, it's because it's all on the intuition, or whatever you want to call it. (I also call it imaginary friends)
2.You can't read your own future. The books said, I defied the books, and it went wrong. You end up suggesting yourself and it happens anyway. Like those fake horoscopes from the newspaper. You make it happen.
3. I found it really cool how tarot relates to kabbalah, astrology and numerology, and who knows what else. I love all these mysterious connections =D
4. I don't like to see it as absolute future. For me it's just a way to put things in order and improve my intuition, like when you try to be ambidextrous to see if you become smarter... XD
It's true I tell you, mixing both sides of your brain does wonders XD
Also, I liked helping others with my readings. More than telling the future, the cards helped to elaborate good advice to them. It's nice to see it works (also, funny-pointless research material)
Of course, not all readings work. But like with everything, practice does the trick.
Wow that's a long, pointless rant... nevermind me... I just love these things... with that said I really haven't had much time to study read about occult things lately and I've forgotten almost all of the minor arcana. Maybe in summer break (starting on dec 1st)

It is nice to have a long reply in my post~~
Thx a lot , Astralogica!!
In my opinion, studying tarot as an interest is good but not but it just like a part of your life. -_-
Since I have read a news article some time b4.
It said that a girl [around 16] like tarot really much
that she had get Death for one of her result.
As she think that this shows she can't get anyway out from this problem.
She decided to die and she did.
I think this is nonsense!
But finally,
I totally agree Astralogica's opinion
It is sure that playing tarot can develop a better intuition.
It also tells you what's wrong in that case too~~

I don't do readings - I don't know how - but many of the readings for me have turned out quite accurate... O_o I say "quite" because they're usually general, but they mostly conform to what happens later on.
Also, it'll be pointless to try to find out the future without having the ability to change it in case you don't like it.
Makes me remember something I heard in economy class:
"Economists spend half of the time making predictions and the other half explaining why their predictions didn't happen" XD
I guess fortune telling is similar =P

Tarot reading is just anti-scientific. it goes against ever neuron of logic a person can have. =P its ok you do just for fun, but if you actually believe it, your just plain retarded.

It's a girl thing for the most part. They love all the tarot cards, palm reading, fortune telling stuff. I still haven't figured out why however...The problem is they don't really respond to "logic" very well. You can explain to them that little pieces of paper with pictures on them have no magical powers to read the future, but it just goes in one ear and out the other. I once explained to a girl that there is no shaman at the tarot card factory who blesses each deck as it comes down the assembly line and she just got mad at me for ruining the mystery. Rather than correcting stupidity it's sometimes best to harness it for manipulation, that's why I'm a certified, kick ass palm reader extraordinaire.
Actually, you're suppoused to put your own energy in the cards. I decided it's pontless because I tried it on many different ways and there's no difference in the quality of readings XD
I think it's fun. Sometimes, good things come out of experimenting. If I was a more scientific person I'd try out to find the trick behind intuition. But I'm not so meh. It's a very interesting topic though, at least to me. It's one of those mystieries I'd like to see solved before I die. (Also, aliens and ghosts, I want to see them!)
I'm not saying it's true or not, but I don't think it might be anti-scientific. You can make a science out of anything these days...you know, like... ufology? >_>
The only thing you need is facts, a theory about these facts and prove it... I guess.
Once a man gave me a reading and he said I'm going to marry at 26. Now that's an easy goal to prove the foretelling thing wrong XP

Of course there isn't because "putting your energy into the cards" is babble. The cards are shuffled randomly and drawn randomly.

Really? I never would have guessed...

What mystery? There is no mystery. At best it's a coincidence, vague or a cold reading. At worst its your selective memory only focusing on fortunes that come true while ignoring the ones that don't.
I'm not saying it's true or not, but I don't think it might be anti-scientific. You can make a science out of anything these days...you know, like... ufology? >_>
Yeah because a nutjob with a tinfoil hat on his head discredits all of science right?
The only thing you need is facts, a theory about these facts and prove it... I guess.
What? Ignoring your bad grammar and lack of knowledge about the scientific process, how is this possibly relevant to anything?
Once a man gave me a reading and he said I'm going to marry at 26. Now that's an easy goal to prove the foretelling thing wrong XP
And? If it doesn't you'll say he was just a bad fortune teller? And if it does then tarot cards really work even though it could have been a coincidence or self-fulfilling? Either way it wouldn't prove anything other than the fact that you're a gullible rube that paid for a fortune telling.
