My scan result is too heavy.

I had scanned some from the game Guidebook of Raising Ayanami. 600dpi, 5100x6952 pixel. And it's 27,989,986 bite.
I resized it by Paintshop pro to 3949x5480 pixel. And now it is 36,933,402 bite.
(Of course JPG file.)
I don't know why... The other scans in AP aren't heavy like this, are they? Can you think about any reason? And, how much big file can be uploaded in AP? I'm worried the REI scan had failed because of the heaviness...

Reduce the jpeg quality setting when you save the file.

Well...That should be the easiest way. But AP requests high jpeg quality. As the FAQ said, more than 9 (in Photoshop). In the case of Paintshop Pro, it has 1 to 99... I save the best quality, 1. Maybe 10 could be fine with AP regulation...? (I'm pretty satisfied with the file size in case of being used by myself...)
And please someone tell me the maximum size AP can take...

Just use the common sense, instead of worrying about quality numbers. I think the best way to do it, is previewing the result. Lower the quality setting and check if you get any artifacting in the image. If everything seems to be ok, keep lowering and checking, until you notice problems in the image, then you know that you've reached the limit. Well, that's my tip. Good luck!
Use Save for Web in Photoshop. Find a balance between file size and scan quality.
