You need to clean the image of luffy for both.
The first version looks low quality.
The background doesn't fit for the second version. But I like the 3d effects.
You need to do some more work on both.

Heh. Awesome concept. ^.^ But yeah, Luffy DEFINITELY needs to be cleaned up in the first, black version. The drop shadow madness in the second one is sort of alright...but the texture in the background is lacking. You need to add some texture to it instead of just having it look like massive liquify madness. But yeah, once you clean up Luffy and get the background to work, it'd look great.
