This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

This wallpaper was made as a gift to my brother. It's my first wallpaper submission, so I was wondering if this would be ready. Comments, suggestions welcome. ^^

Hi there...
mmm you really have to work on that extraction... and the colors of the scan are rear... did you changed them? or used filter?... whatever you did... un do it!.. cause it doesn't look good..
and you have to work with the wings on her back cause i think it doesn't fit propertly... (take a look at my wallpaper.. maybe this could help you... http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/wallpapers/clarings/item34679/ )
about the background that swirls are too hard... make them softer...
wish you luck!

Hi there
Well like clarings says-you must work with extraction or I sugest you making a vector art, that will be look much better.
Next something about background-it's not fit very well with image, and also this brushes in the corner don't look good...
Maybe you try change colours and put something other in the background?
I think I help you a little to improve? ^^
Wish ya good luck with next wallpaper

Here's the new version: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d66/webmistressmichiru/wallpapers/frozenintime3.jpg

I smudged the edges a bit and erased some of the red edges to fix the extraction, not sure what else I could do.

And here's the original scan. I did mess with the image a little with the brightness and contrast and a gaussian blur/layer effect, a combination of two techniques I got from two graphics site to make the images sharper/softer looking. I modified it a little now, so tell me if that's better. The original wouldn't look good in my opinion.

Yeah, the wings were a bit weird to me because I cut off the beginning part of it. I tried to put a bit more of a bright light effect on it to lessen the weirdness, is it better now? Btw, it's not a girl, it's a guy named Edward. XD

I wasn't sure what you meant by the swirls being too hard and I'm not sure how to fix that either. ^^; Any help would be appreciated. ^_^

Edited:
Er...I'm not sure how you work w/ vector art...

I probably do need to work on extraction a bit more. I'll make some more changes later, so you can ignore the above changes if you want and wait for the next change. Thanks for the advice.

Edited again:
Ok, after studying a bunch of well extracted images, I think I discovered that I had misunderstood the whole point in extraction until now. ^^; So let me get this straight, in extraction, you're suppose to have this very thin line that basically outlines the entire image rather than just deleting out all the parts of the background and be left with the said person you want w/o a clear definition between the image and the background, am I right in assuming this? I'm not supposed to be smudging to make it look better, right?

Looks great but ed does not match to the bg. try and make the bg redish or make eds cape blue.

Your Bg looks really nice but it does look like you just threw Ed onto it. You could try blending him with some color burns or dodges and photoshop to help, because without blending you might as well just choose another background that matches your char or scan. Blending your font as well. I think it would look really cool if it had some sort of icy look to it. Nice idea/keep working at it.

Sorry to say this but everything is not matching. edward's texture is more soft but your bg and brushes are too strong. try to take some out or just add a more softer touch, that should do the trick

Thanks for all the opinions! ^^

Ok, I changed the character to Seiren from the Yami To Boshi To Hon No Tabibito series. The extraction doesn't belong to me though; I found it in http://aethereality.net/ extracted by http://cloud-realms.com

I would extract it myself if I could find the image of it, but I could only find an extracted image.

Here's the wallpaper: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d66/webmistressmichiru/wallpapers/frozenintime4.jpg

I think this image matches the background better; however, I'm not sure if this is good enough for submission since I didn't extract the image. Is the image too soft for the background still? Well, tell what you guys think of the wallpaper.

P.S. Can someone tell me what is the difference between a vector and an extraction?

[color=green]love it looks great, change the color of her dress just a bit more darker so it matches better. and make her feel as if she is part of the wall.
