I volunteer at the hospital, and I think it's oodles of fun!
Anyone else here volunteer? Even if it was just once, and it doesn't have to be the hospital.

I volunteer to help restore the Memphis Belle. . . but i havent been lately because nothing has been going on, and the Air Force is trying to take it away

I volunteered once at a summer camp. At the end of it, I wished I had been paid instead. Those devil spawns were too much for me to handle at no salary. Overall, though, I don't mind volunteering. As long as it's something I like to do, I don't particularly care whether or not I get paid. And it isn't that I don't like working with kids; I'm actually planning on majoring in child psychology. But that was probably my worst experience with them. I'd never do it again for no money. -_-
I was required to do some volunteer work to graduate from high school, and I'm really glad that I had to. It was a great experience. I'd love to volunteer for things now, but it's hard to find out about places where you can volunteer on your own. I think it is, anyway. =/

As long as people volunteer for the right reasons...
I volunteer at a hospital and it feels good to help others, especially because I do it when I usually do nothing. My hours are sure worth everything and plus, I made new friends over there at the hospital.

Volunteering is absolutely great: Way to contribute back to society, to help people in needs, to meet tons of ppl, to make good ref. letter...many more.
I volunteer in our youth community here. Its a great experience, meeting new people, helping the youth that are struggling emotionally and spiritually and inspiring them to cope up and be better people. We don't get paid... but the experience, the friendship is enough payment for it...
Volunteered at an air show once. It was alright for the most part. Pretty much I was handing out kool aid and cookies too all the speical needs familes there.

I tried to vollenter at my local library to deliver library books to housebound/elderly people. But you needed 2 refrences and I didn't have anyone to put down ;__;

I never knew some places require references for volunteer work. I agree with annex - friends would've worked fine. Maybe even family members, if they allow it.
I haven't, but I have to this year. My school requires that I do 10 hours of community service a semester.. I've never done anything like that before lol. I dont know what to do. I don't have any time to do it.. O.o;; Between homework and other classes I take and everything. Ahh, I'll have to figure something out.
