This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

You know, they call them the "gateway drugs" of anime: the most common ones are Dragon Ball, Gundam, Inu Yasha, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, anything Miyazaki... Which one was it for you and what about it did you like so much?

As for me, it was a mix: I had been exposed to Gundam and Dragon Ball before, but somehow they didn't catch me. I got drawn into the aspect of the Japanese culture, presented to me by Samurai Pizza Cats (has anyone heard of this old anime? ;_;), Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Inu Yasha. I think Pokemon really got me off my fat butt and into the realm of anime. From there, it was a spiral in some direction (you be the judge) to where I am now, more familiar to anime series not shown in the U.S., with a taste very different than what I started with.

The first one I saw was Pokemon, that was the first step to my huge obsession with anime. It was quickly followed by Cardcaptors, then Magic Knight Rayearth and thats where it really took off.

My first anime ever was technically dragon ball z, lol [ one of the most common]. but i wasnt exactly hooked on anime after dragon ball z although i loved the show. I got really into anime when my brother showed me a gundam seed episode [jap subbed of course]. i was immediteatly hooked to that series and the rest of the seires. from there on, i was an anime watcher ^_^

When I first saw DBZ I was thinking "anime is sooo dumb". I guess that just wasnt a good one with overly-bulky dudes walking around. The very first one I saw was Sailor Moon and then I moved onto YuYu Hakusho and from there I've been an addict!

The one that really got me into anime was probably FLCL, and I still think it's one of the best OVA's ever made. <3 emoticon

The first ones I ever watched were Samurai Pizza Cats and Astro Boy, and I think I can recall some Speed Racer in there somewhere... like 12 years ago >.> However, I would have to say that the catalyst was definitely Chrno Crusade. From there it took off... A friend of mine bought a dvd burner and 3 weeks later he crashed the cable internet server for his community. 160+ GB in a week and a half >.< so to kill time, I'd borrow some of the DVD's he had made. I do his social studies homework, he lends me anime, I thought it was an awesome deal (and he still scored a higher final mark O.o )

My bro and sis were huge fanatics about the original Macross series (known more commonly in the US as Robotech) and they drew me into it as well. But what really pulled me in was the english dub of Macross Plus. Everything about series left me wanting to see more, and I slowly progressed into Evangelion and Escaflowne from there. Hmm... good memories...

The first series i watched was probably Evangelion, Dragonball Z, digimon and pokemon. Then Gundam Wing was what really got me into it, it was weird, because i use to think anime was boring.
