What series got you into anime?

I got really interested in anime after seening Vampire Hunter D. I don't think I was really hooked until I watched Hellsing and Berserk.
The first anime i watched was.... Daimos. But that didn't really get me into watching anime on a consistent basis. I think it was Takara Transformers and Macross. From that point on it was anime goodness for me. ^_^
First anime I ever saw was Evangelion. Got traumatized by it. Thought it was the biggest thing ever til I woke up one day and decided it was not. It is not. What really got me into it was Escaflowne. Mostly thanks to Yoko Kanno's magnificent soundtrack. Following YK's trail led me to my numero uno: Cowboy Bebop. Best Anime Ever.
The first anime i saw was this basketball anime called Slam Dunk. It didnt get me interested into anime. My second anime series that I watched really got me into the whole anime thing. Ah my Goddess all the way back from 93 was really what got me into the whole thing. After that, was Chobits, Love Hina, etc. My favorite anime after all these years is still the original Ah my Goddess.

What got me into anime was probably CCS since I wanted to know more about it and stuff when it finished in the UK
Hmmm well i think the first anime (that i knew was an anime at least) was probably Akira. I thought it was good but the music drove me crazy... anyway, the OVA that really got me into anime was probably Angel Sanctuary, watched the OVA then read the manga and i was hooked from then on, think i started watching rurouni kenshin at about that time too, guess that had something to do with it as well.
Kodomo no omacha was the first anime I saw. It was a 30 meg Realplayer file and it was tiny...
But if you're gonna go REALLY into it, alot of the cartoons I watched as a kid were either anime which had been dubbed (Peter pan, Samurai pizza cats) or animated in Japan (Thundercats, Double dragon...) so who knows which I saw first!

Really really the first anime I saw was Candy Candy, Lady Oscar, Robotech, SWamurai Pizza Cats, and others but the Anime that got really to me inside this world was Sainmt Seiya and Samurai X.

Haha, for me, it was a mix of Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball (Z).
Man for me it has to be Gundam Wing. I can remember staying up late just to watch it on YTV.
I really loved Dragon Ball Z, CC Sakura, Sailor Moon, when I was really young but I never thought about them being anime. They were just more cartoons on tv. I never really discovered anime I just have been always watching and I moved on to shows like Utena, Gatekeepers 21, Big O... Then four years ago when I switched HS my new HS had an anime club and I got hooked on Ranma1/2 so that's the show that really opened up the doors to anime for me.
I first got into anime when I was around 9 or 10. I happened to be flipping channels on tv, and I came across sailor moon. Yeah, it was in english and the dubs were horrid, but I wasn't aware of this until later in my life when I discovered the joys of anime in japanese with english subs. I was Addicted. No other way to describe it.
Soon after said addiction began, I discovered this entire world of anime, and very quickly began to watch anything I could get my hands on. Chobits, Azumanga daioh, Snow fairy sugar, Ah my goddess, anything!
Now, I think it has come to the point where I have seen so much anime that almost everything reminds me of something from an anime series.

My 1st anime was Dragon Ball.
I guess for me is dragon ball[the first one when goku was just a little boy...well,he's really cute and chubby...hehehe...^^]
