Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

It's exactly what it says. I want to know who you think is the greastest hero in anime and why? For instance, could it be Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. Or maybe Sakura Kinomoto from Card Captor Sakura, since she has many heroic characteristics. Or is it Naruto from well duh, Naruto. Could it be Athrun Zala from Gundam Seed and Gundam SEED Destiny. For instance, It could be Athrun due to the fact that he didn't think twice about sacraficing himself to destroy Genesis in order to save Earth in Gundam Seed. These are just some examples, soo what do you think?

Mine was a tough choice but my runner ups were Naruto, Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) and Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist). But my greastest hero of all time would be ... Son Goku. Hehe, I've watched a lot of anime and Dragonball (original, Z and GT) is definitely sub par when compared to other greats, but Goku is without a doubt the greatest hero of all time for me. Ever since he was a kid to when he grew up and had children and grandchildren Goku always thought of other's well being and would sacrafice himself in an instant to save anyone. Not only that but his heart is always pure and never corrupt of greed, hate or any kind of darkness.

I agree Son Goku is definantly the best hero.
Hes also sweet when he turns SSJ4.
He sacrifices his life many times to save the lives of others so they wont be hurt.
In the Namek/Freeza Saga when he saw Vegeta die although Vegeta was going to kill him he got pissed because Freeza killed him and i think he was the last Saiyan alive and he turned SSJ.
Also the Cell Saga when Cell was about to explode he took him to King Kai's planet so the rest of the Earth wouldnt die and only he would.
Yea hes definantly better then anyone else.

Sponatneously I would say it is Kenshin. The former Battosai.Man's Slayer who voted never to kill again,... which throughout the series is not really easy. The more it was enjoyable that he found a kind of way not to develop his Hiten Mitsurugi Style to a High Level and to defeat Shishio who had an opposite Principle.
Kenshin is a Phenomenon because he fights to protect hte persons that mean the most for him: Kaoru at first, and hen his Kenshin-Gumi Friends.
Yahiko has all good reasons to see Kenshin as a Hero. Really.

I agree with all of you: Goku is the best hero of all! He only fight to protect someone, dont ever giving importance to himself, or money, or fame, with a pure heart and a very kind person. Nobody has as much honor how much Goku!! He is the best! xD How much times he save earth?? None another hero saved the earth as many times as him!

No I think Brandon Heat from Gungrave is the best because the man is dead yet he still finds so much time to beat down so many people to save a corporation while protect a girl.

Hehe, you've finally caught on in what I'm trying to find out :D. I left the question vague on purpose. I want to know what do you think a hero is and which anime character embodies this definition of hero for you. So keep those heros coming.

I vote for the 4 member of the sanzo party in Saiyuki, they literally have to beat the gods to save the worlds and then a demon king. But i agree Goku is up there as well. But in the end its a specific verse related concept. Finally shout out for Luffy from One piece and Naruto.

Himura Kenshin, hands down.

He was once an assassin to bring about change in Japan...he sacrificed his innocence; afterall, he was only 15 or 16, wasn't he?

Then, when what he was working for is finally achieved, he vows never to kill again, but goes on protecting people to atone for his sins. He fights the desire to kill every time, and never breaks his vow.

He is very selfless, and has many times changed people's lives for the better.

Lolz I got some definitions of the word hero (i just did a lazy google define and copied the top ones)

# a man distinguished by exceptional courage and nobility and strength; "RAF pilots were the heroes of the Battle of Britain"
# the principal character in a play or movie or novel or poem
# champion: someone who fights for a cause
# Greek mathematician and inventor who devised a way to determine the area of a triangle and who described various mechanical devices (first century)
# (classical mythology) a being of great strength and courage celebrated for bold exploits; often the offspring of a mortal and a god
# (Greek mythology) priestess of Aphrodite who killed herself when her lover Leander drowned while trying to swim the Hellespont to see her
# bomber: a large sandwich made of a long crusty roll split lengthwise and filled with meats and cheese (and tomato and onion and lettuce and condiments); different names are used in different sections of the United States
