True Love? Or: You're jealous! - Wallpaper
1 Page: [ 1 ]
Hi!
Well, my new wallpaper was just rejected and I thought I could ask for some ideas what to make better.
True Love? Or: You're jealous! - Are there any JPEG-Artifacts?
I'll be happy about any comment on it.
Yours, Darkmaya

The resolution of your wallpaper isnt standard :O A recent wallpaper of mine was rejected because it was basically a scan and an edited background. Try adding a few things to make unique I guess
Well with the rejection message they'll usually have mentioned something about why the wall was rejected, so you'll want to take a closer look at that first.
I don't see any bad artifacting here, but I noticed that your wall is ~770kb in size, which is pretty darn big. Now, ap.net will automatically recompress your file if it's too big, which may result in artifacting. I'm thinking that's a likely reason if artifacting was given as the reason for rejection.
If you're using photoshop, they usually advice that you "save for web" and setting the quality at ~70%, which will give you a nice filesize without much deterioration in quality.
You can read more about this here.
Now, on the wall itself again, the extraction of characters can be improved. Like the dude on the right, there are still bits of yellow in the little corners of the hair, those need to be cleaned up. Also that little triangle bit between the wings and the main part of his staff. Extraction of the bookmark ribbon and that li'l gear-like thingy also need improvement.
That's incorrect. 1280*1024 is a valid resolution, so don't worry about it.
It's a pretty wall, look forward to seeing it fixed up and accepted!

Wow, that post will help me a lot, hamstersanonymous.
It was the artifacting why I didn't save it as less than 100%, but maybe I should rethink that.
And yeah, if 1280*1024 wasn't standard my graphicscard wouldn't offer me that resolution.
About the wall itself, I wanted a simple one, for users with many icons on their desks (like mine normally, lol).
You're right, before you spotted me those yellow parts, I didn't notice them (I already told my dad I should go to a doc couse of my eyes >_>").
I'll present the next version here again, comments are still useful.
Thanks you both ^.^

Compositionally speaking, this is pretty good. I agree about the extraction - it looks as if you just magic wand, so try and do it properly with the pen tool or lasso. Also, maybe create some glowing pink arrows such as the ones the girl is about to shoot? Have them coming out of the borders w/ appropriate perspective - this will add a little personal flair to it. Good start.

Maybe you need a clearer signature? If they can't
read it, the guide says they will reject out of hand.

It looks real good to me, the only problem to me is that you can see some white left over from the extraction in the corners of his hair.
Nice wall, I really like it. Always loved the Fan art of Ragnarok Online, before they had put apart the international server they put all of the fan-art together. Man... I have seen some works there... Beautiful
The bottom of the scan up front cuts off too abruptly.. Blend that part in better.. The BG is kinda plain... Maybe adding a simple pattern might enhance it? Also on the bottom your copyright stuff is kinda repeating itself no? >_<
