This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I must say, I've grown to really hate this show. I HATE how anime's like these are always "top of the charts" and whatever. InuYasha is SO predictiable, you can always tell what will happen in the next episode or what the characters' next move will be. It never gets you thinking, worried, cautious, afraid, you always know what will happen. I really hate anime's where there are no surprises. Anyone else know what I mean?

Mhhh... Rumiko Takahashi is my favourite mangaka, but I think Inuyasha is not her better manga. However, it's not bad, this is really pleasant, but sure, it's predictiable, unfortunately, this manga is too "nice" to have bad surprises...

I tend to think of Inuyasha as one of those guilty pleasures in anime. Sure I know the main team will always win and usually its beyond easy to tell how. But sometimes I just like the fact that they're a cute group of characters having fun and I don't have to stress or watch for some hidden detail that will reveal the whole plotline to me. LoL I get enough of that from shows like Ergo Proxy. =)

Inuyasha isn't that great in terms of storyline, animation quality, predictable characters, etc...it is standard Rumiko Takahashi stuff. Personally I think Mermaid's Forest/Scar is a much better series by Rumiko. I watched about 60 episodes of Inuyasha and quit. I tried to pick up a couple of episodes here and there when it got to the hundred something episode. Not much changed - it was still kind of like the monster or demon of the week thing but dragged out into convoluted yet uninteresting story arcs.

Ningyono mori (mermaid forest) is a really good story, sure (like all of her), but I think it's not the better...
However, I have only the first manga, because here, in France, it's on sale since more of 10 years, and it's all, the serie is forgotten by GLENAT T=T

Jaguarslair is right, it's a serie like that : no stress (a little xD), and I thnik, maybe it's why people like Inuyasha.

I watched a bunch of InuYasha, because I think the original plot was very creative and I found the characters reasonably likeable and interesting. I also found these same qualities in Ranma 1/2. Unfortunately, both series suffer from circular plotlines and just plain dragging on too long. With both, I kept watching in hopes that a consistent plotline would appear, or the romance would be resolved.

My friend and I have been known to discuss our love/hate relatonship with Takahashi, and I've come to this conclusion: InuYasha could have been a good series had they decided to have one man plot and resolve it in 52 episodes, then end the show. However, money being the lure that it is, as long as people keep watching the companies keep spitting it out. I guess it's good for the creators and companies that people buy it, but I have to admit I get disappointed when stories continue when there's no purpose.

I think that in order to suffer through the lack of plot in InuYasha, you have to like the characters enough to put up with it. I didn't. I know many people did.

These series are always atop the ratings chart because they appeal to the mainstream demographic in Japan. Although anime has a wide appeal, the primary demographic is still kids aged 5-15. That's why it's the Inuyasha's and the Naruto's of this world that airs on primetime TV in Japan whereas series like Samurai Champloo and Ergo Proxy air at 2am in the morning. The mainstream public likes shows that are formularistic, cliche, and predictable. If you ask "don't they ever get tired of those series?". The answer is yes. But what happens is, when the current group of 5-15 year olds get older, a lot of them will stop watching anime and move on to bigger things in life. And they're placed by the next generation of 5-15 yr olds who are watching these kinds of series for the very first time. That's why these shows continue to draw ratings. Even though the shows remain cliche and formularistic, the bulk of the audience watching these shows changes over time.

I take it you haven't seen a lot of anime. Or atleast, you haven't watched a lot of Inuyasha yet...

I got started on anime with Inuyasha. I'll admit that (technically I got started with Sailor Moon, but I didn't branch out into other anime until Inuyasha). But the moment I found something better, I couldn't believe how horrible Inuyasha was and I kind of completely um..stopped watching it then.
Not only is it too formulaic, and the main character is one of those typical females in distress, who, despite the fact that she has powers and could actually help out once in a while, just stands there and waits for her boys to save her, but the show is just overloaded with fillers. The manga has fillers. The manga! I mean, I don't know. I just think there's something wrong with that. Even if they do "promote character development" or whatever, it still isn't necessary to have so many darn fillers. We get who the characters are. They aren't interesting enough to have so many fillers dedicated to developing them (not that they're well-developed anyways).
And ya. I really hate Kagome. Also the whole "we've defeated this bad guy in about two episodes, but wait! There's another bad guy! Let's beat him. Then, let's upgrade my sword, and beat this guy!" or whatever (well, that was a bad explanation, but you get what I mean. It's like whoever above me said - bad guy of the week sort of thing.)
Or it should atleast know when to quit, and when to stop bringing back dead characters...
I'm done ranting for now... sorry.

When I first saw the anime, I thought the story was kind of interesting. The action-packed adventure-like showdown in the beginning was great...but they dragged it on (to some-and-such hundredth episode is it now?) so much that it's become a sore disappointment.
The art isn't high quality either. Sure, it can be argued as a style - but then again not everyone supports modern art >_>.
However, I do agree that the overall good feeling that comes from this series is nice. Deep stories are excellent, but the fun, just-plain-anime ones can be refreshing too.
