Anime Neglect?
If your reading this please take a moment and look at your collection of anime titles (be it on DVD, hard drive, etc...) and answer the following.
Are there any you forgot you had?
Any you haven't watched for a long time?
Some that you're surprised to even own?
Does it bring back some old memories?
Why is it that ther slipped your mind?
Discuss some and then take some time, if you can, to catch up on old times with your collection.

Ouch that's gotta be a heartache especially since anime don't come in cheap. Usually I try to finish watching a series before going out to get another one, this prevent me from splurging too much on animes at once and ensures that i won't 'jump ship' and abandon the old one for a newer series ;) But still, somehow I never quite finished watching Midori no Hibi. Only caught the first episode before jumping over to watch Shakugan no Shana haha.. oops.
There are some anime, which i feel has very low replay value. Watched it once and and I won't get any 'kick' from watched a second time. Animes like Jigoku Shoujo, Ghost Hunt, and various detective-style animes. Somehow they just aren't worth watching a second time as there isn't much action, being dialogue-heavy animes. Before I stir up any angry fans, I'm not saying that those animes suck (I'm a huge fan of Enma Ai!) but somehow watching a second time is just boring.

Well one of them that I currently remember is Howl's moving castle from Studio Ghibli... I bought it 2 years ago and haven't watched it until twoo weeks ago. The reason was simply I was not in a mood for watching Ghibli films at all...
Other than that from my Anime Collection I haven't watched sooo many Anime that I dl'd and I just threw them away, man, I reduce my Anime program to only 3-5 Series now...

Theres a couple old ones on my harddrive. i dl them as much as possible or borrow them from friends adn put them on my computer theres some i miss watching and give me heartaches :(
I watch all my physical discs relativly often, (about twenty series and growing) but I have several on my computer that I haven't gotten around to watching even though I've had them a year and a half now...And sometimes I guilt myself into sitting down and watching some of it, but they do sort of get neglected...
Ohhh, and Peacemaker Kurogane on disc, I haven't watched it since I first got it but thats cause someone stole the first four discs and I haven't replaced em yet.

I still haven't watched more than a couple of episode of Champloo; I have the whole box set sitting on my shelf. I don't ever watch any of those old stand-alone movies like Akira or Ninja Scroll or Spriggan (dont know what possessed me to even buy that last one... >.>) I've neglected Eureka Seven, too - I've only watched the first two DVDs - ten episodes or so I guess. Most of my other stuff though - Eva, Kenshin, Bebop, FLCL, etc. - has been watched many times over.
I've neglected Eureka Seven, I have not watched them for 1/2 a year. And i lost half my hard Dire including E7

God old times. looking at what i have now, it makes me feel like some very important anime of my childhood are missing. Animes like Shurato and Ronin Warriors dont come out very easily.
I was also very chocked when the Corrector Yui dvds were cancelled temporerally (and havent come back yet, its been like 4 years now). It was a series i enjoyed a lot when i was younger.
Also, although i still see it on TV from time to time, i feel like i want to wacth some older series like Dragon Ball (throughly) and Yu Yu Hakusho. im currently trying to do that, but im often caught up with new anime. I've recently re0-started watching Rurouni Kenshin and want to start watching Saint Seiya, so thats a huge step for me ^^
Besides that, i think some animes i didn't enjoy AS MUCH, but were entertaining and i'd kindly watch again are the ever gone Shinzo, Flint the Time Detective and Super Pig. Which i believe all aired on Fix Kids (good old times).

Well, for starters, I've been an anime fan for over a decade and a half, and despite my best intentions to watch it and having even met Ryo Mizuno personally, I've never watched Record of Lodoss War. I've never seen the end of Trigun despite owning it, and I keep meaning to getting around to watching Maria-sama ga Miteru, but somehow, I've always got better things to do.
I think part of it is that I'm hung up on the fact that I haven't seen it for so long that I feel kind of stupid watching it now. I mean, I've watched three-hundred anime series, but I'm just now finishing Trigun? Embarassing.

I had three different Gundam series left on my hard drive for over a year. Ended up deleting them because the pc was running out of space.
And I still haven't finished reading Death Note. I started maybe 2 years ago, then the anime came out and I watched a few episodes than my brother DLed the manga and read all of it, but I still haven't got around to it. I just kind of got bored when Mello and Near came in.

*tear* My raid 0 died and I lost around 300 gb of stored anime (all watched) so I can't look back at them even now. However, if I could, I definatly would have that heartache feeling about some of them. I have a hard time neglecting them because my friend dl's them and I get them from him in small bursts. So that by the time i get the next burst I'm ready to watch it all in one sitting.

As I again browsed my collection, I noticed that I haven't finished three of my series: Blood +, Teni Puri and Ah! My Goddess (TV). I dunno why I haven't finished them, maybe because I'm really busy at the moment, or I just don't feel watching them. Gomen ne -_-
Also, there are some series that I can watch over and over again, like School Rumble, Code Geass, fumoffu and most especially Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (SHnY). I dunno why, but it seems like I can't get enough of SHnY, it's like every time I watch it again, it becomes more and more good, especially if I watched again episode 00 n_n;
Then, there are also some series that I'll probably won't watch again, like Shuffle! (poor Kaede T_T), Kanon, and Death Note. I can't explain it well, but I feel like these series aren't recommended to be watched over and over again, I'm not sying that it's boring, it's just that, once you've watched them, the "spice" they give are only good for one time -_-;

I'm with you on Haruhi. It gets better with repetition. Hopefully a second season will come out considering the extreme popularity. They have the story already. It just needs to be animated.
For a while I forgot I had Vol. 1 of Kiddy Grade and I haven't watched Noir, Love Hina, FLCL, and Wolf's Rain for a while now. I've got Those Who Hunt Elves Vol. 1 which happened to be the first anime DVD I ever bought. It's an alright series if I remember, although if I can get a decent price on it I wouldn't mind selling it as well as the Box Casefor Wolf's Rain and the Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. They're taking up shelf space.
Lately I've been looking around to complete Evangelion Platinum. By the end of the week Vol. 5 should arrive and I'm done except for the End of Evangelion movie. I've only rather recently got around to watch the series. Around 2-3months ago I didn't even realize I owned Platinum Vol. 1
I've been stuck on that as well as Bleach and Haruhi. Those 3 titles, and occasionally Naruto when it's on Tonnami, keep me occupied.

Im kinda new to the whole owning anime thing. i usually just got my anime fix from adult swim. so my collection right now is kinda small so i dont neglect watching any of the shows that i have right now. i just neglect buying the shows that i really want like cowboy bebop, gundam, FMA, Excel Saga, just to name a few. unfortunately i know im probably going to neglect buying those even more since halo 3 is coming out soon so that will take up alot of time. i guess once im done with school ill have more time to get the essentials that im missing.
There aren't really any anime I've forgot that I own, but there are some that I question why I bought it. I own the original Orphen series on DVD and, I haven't looked at it in years. I sort of regret buying that one. I also sometimes regret buying series disc by disc when the insanely cheap boxes come out.
I've been meaning to revisit some shows I really enjoyed like FLCL, Azumanga Daioh, Fruits Basket, and Cowboy Bebop.
As for fansubs, let's just say that I'm more of a collector than a watcher. I have whole series on my computer that have gone completely unwatched.
