This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I think the studios that liscenced anime should wait till its finished airing in Japan since people like watching it on Fansub should watch it finished. Example Naruto got liscenced and i heard that the american studio is taking the blood in it off or making it less.

shura no Toki is no spoild for others sincethey wtched 1-17 eps and then when they buy it they have to watch it over and some time it spoils it a bit depending on what.

The voices in English can suck and the Japanese is good but the Japanee sound is sometimes softer.

Whatever your reason or ideia is tell us.

Sorry i cant make very good things to talk about

Well, considering that the purpose of fansubs is to build popularity of a series to the point where it will get licensed, if a series gets licensed before it finishes airing then the fansubbers have done their job.

Besides, if even though if a show is licensed, there will still be some sub groups that will fansub it anyway, just to get the story out faster, this is not a substitute for the DVD release though.

I personally look forward to when the DVD release of shows like Mai HiME and Eureka 7 comes along, as it means I can watch them on my TV in DVD quality, and if I dont like the Dub job, I just switch to subtitles.

Well, I don't mind if the companies license the anime before the series has finishied airing in Japan. If a company license an anime then that means that DVDs will be released and I can buy them B).

Well man, you've never seen a good dub have you. The people who do onegai twins dub is very good. Plus I don't really mind if english companies lisence it, cause I have my other sources, or I just save up money and buy the box sets.

It's good if you want to support the series. It's also good if you want to see the anime at full quality. Sometimes, people forget what fansubbing is all about. They use it as an excuse really, now.
Sure, i'd get pissed off if HiMM got licensed right now, but I'd definately buy it once the DVD's came out.

When a series gets licensed here, it's always a good thing. Not every anime fan has the time or the luxury to download fansubs. Furthermore, like most members already mentioned, the purpose of fansubs is to promote new anime series. If we solely rely on fansubs alone, we are also hurting the companies that deliver dvd quality of the anime. Besides, spoilers aren't always a bad thing.

I'm still on the side of fansubbers. Technically the licensing of anime shouldn't stop the fansubber from doing their thing. It's not really fair that if a series gets licenced we now have to wait X number of months and/or year to finish watching it. If a series is quality I buy it on DVD when they finish the release, but there's no reason we shouldn't be able to watch our anime weekly regardless of licencing.

First of all, dont' say "anime companies are losing money" BS. Most of the time, Japanese Animation companies created their anime solely for the Japanese audience IN JAPAN. So they don't really have much consideration for the U.S. market (except for Ghibli). When anime is licensed for U.S. distribution, they receive royalties, which isn't considered a loss of net income. The only ones probably losing money from fansubbing groups is the U.S. distribution companies who put out time and money for your "dubs" as well as packaging for your purchases.

There's nothing wrong in supporting both sides of the companies during it's licensing, I just don't want anyone go off making arguments upon who's making or losing money.

As for dubbing, there's good dubs and bad dubs. The english dubbing job is getting better since they actually spend a little more money on these projects because there is a market for anime now in the U.S. Most of the time, people complain of dubbing because of old reminiscence of cheap english dubbing jobs before 2002 when Anime is still a small growing market of demand.

There's also habits. Most of the people who watched anime subtitled (mainly because of fansubs) are very use to the Japanese voices and how it sounded. There are also people who watched anime in English dub most of the time. They may think the Japanese voices are wierd and vice versa. To me, english dubs are evil, but that's because I'm use to watching anime with that language voice acting.

The US companies can license whenever they want and I'll still be hoping fansubs continue. I don't care if anyone gets screwed since I'll be getting it for free.

The anime DVD's (usually around $50+) sold in Japan, it's purpose is for those who want to watch it again. The problem here in the U.S. is that we can't watch anime free of charge on public TV (even though it's paid by advertisement). Even if we paid money for that Cartoon Network and ADV's Anime Channel, it'll ended up being dubbed, in which I don't really enjoy watching anime in. It's an expensive luxury here in the U.S. when it comes to anime. Just be glad that average price of the DVD's here in the U.S. is much lower than 5 years ago & Japan's prices.

In my opinion...there shouldn't be liscensed anime...the voicing is awful...and they cut out practically half of the scenes...

I will only watch anime is if it is subbed and not dubbed. I bought appleseed and it was subbed with original Japanese audio so that was a big plus for me. So if a company liscense and anime and just subs and translate the text Im fine with it.
