Dubbed vs. Subbed

For me it is subs, hands down!
Good dubs are few and far between and the only ones that come to mind are Cowboy Bebop and FLCL.

Subtitles are much better than dubs, the only people who feel otherwise are those who are not yet used reading subtitles. I myself used to hate subtitles as well as widescreen format, but now that im used to them both i wouldnt have it any other way. Also 9 out of 10 times the dub voices are horrible and/or the same voices from other dubs, and often times the dub stories are changed in some way or another. just my 3 cents...
When I was growing up(oh good, it makes me feel so old), I watched anime on the Rai Uno(Italian Channel) and it was obviously dubbed. I have to thank them, I comprehend Italian much better now. Later when they brought anime in my country it was subbed, because well it's ten times cheaper to sub something than to dub it, so ever since the age of seven I can't stand anything that is dubbed. I don't know why. It's just weird, especially when I know their voices should be different

i cant stand watching dubbed anime their voices suck and they cant do the same job japanese do

Subbed over dubbed. i like learning how to speak jap while watching. it's just not the same if you don't watch with the original voices. there's also that annoying little problem of when they translate things to english which get lost in translation.

It depends on the voice. Some sounds horrible, some sounds great! But I like Japanese better, so it's sub for me xD but if a good dubbed version comes by I'd watch that instead
Subbed without a doubt
Hmmm, like many others, I thought it would be impossible and hard to watch subbed, but when I first watched dubbed in DNAngels, I was sure shocked. For sure, subbed is better than dubbed because most dubbed anime producers don't seem to realize that the tone and voicing is very crucial to character and make a big joke out of the anime (sometimes.) This can be seen in naruto where a brat sounding kid turned into a dying cat's voice. There are many others. Due too this difference, there is a big gap between dubbed and subbed.

Subbed cuz the voice are more real and better , funnier, hotter (for guys)

For me, subbed all the way, because:
- the animation fits the speech (unless it's sync'd badly or just crap animation)
- it's usually with the voices the creator / author had in mind
not to say that all dubs are bad, there are some that are really good (cowboy bebop springs to mind). but from my experience, the number of good dubs are few and far between.

I don't like when anime is dubbed, a specially in American English.
I've watched many animes dubbed in english and I decidet to download original version with subtitles.
I don't know how to say it but for my opinion anime shouldn't be dubbed aat all!

Im from canada and let me tell you something about translation of japanese into english... ITS BAD! Looks like you're watching some chaplin movie with a voice which doesn't make any sense does it :)
You get the actual voices which are unbelievable and you get used to reading all the time and at some point you'll learn some words and you wont need to read that much just the big lines imo. Its just like movies I better get the original one than a copy of someone else's voice :)

I'll only watch a dub if there were few to no cuts made. Initial D and One Piece are two examples; One Piece dub just sucks outright because of 4Kids changing guns into springhammers and deleting blood. Initial D's dub sucks bad because Tokyocrap changed nearly all the names and added street slang like "slammin'" and they use terms like "ride" to describe cars which I hate to hear, not to mention the crappy music replacing the eurobeat from the original.
Azumanga is a great example of a dub that's relatively good; some jokes get lost in the translation, and they forget to translate the honoratives -san and -sensei, which is fine in the case of Yukari-sensei being referred to as "Miss Yukari", but Chiyo calling Osaka "Miss Osaka" and everyone calling Sakaki "Miss Sakaki" is just too formal and makes it sound as if they are teachers and not students.

I prefer the subbed versions. Although some dubs are very well done (kudos), I feel the japanese voices are more dramatic and realistic to the english ones (sorry, never watched a foreign dub). I think it's because I always watch the sub versions first, and once I start watching the dub ones, they feel out of place.
