Where do the charactes in the AP banners come from?

I think it's chosen by the artists...doesn't really have a spec.
(You mean the img or the img in rotation that is always there on the top of every page right? If so then.....)
Hmm... I have wondered about them too. But as far as my knowledge goes, i think they are taken from good wallpapers which have been submitted in the AP gallery. They put the banners there according to the appropriateness that the wall can create in that position/situation. I can say this because multiple times i have observed the same img or 'screenshot' or a part of a wall that i have seen in the gallery. And sometimes they also have the waller's name/sig on them.
So my guess is that they come only from walls that have already been submitted in the gallery some time in the past. I can't think of any other reasons though.
But i could be wrong though!

It alternates from time to time. The only one I've recognized to far was the Fruits Basket one with Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo.
There are some that i don't recognize, but the ones i know are all anime characters, and i think that they were specially made for animepaper banner.

I think for the most part they are just parts of wallpapers that users posted and it changes randomly also they seem like well known animes too such as One Piece, Air, etc
I don't know here they come from when i signed up i was woundering why the banners were always different.. i think it's cool.. but i guess like most people said.. they must come from walls people made..^^

I think they're from the submitted scans, sorta made the same way the wallpapers are...Only smaller. I recognized one of Amy from Soul Calibur i, and one with Naruto, and another of Kiba from Wolf's Rain, but I don't know about the others...I also remember seeing a thread before about them, something about a contest for the site headers. I guess that's when site members know they can start creating those headers, for submission to and use on the site.
Since no one apparently was around when they did them, AP asked the art side of its community to make banners for it. The only specifications were that it had AP4 in the banner, as well as "the paper people" and an anime character. How the artists did this was up to them. I'm sure some are from scans or walpapers, but many were made specificly for the banner project. The good ones were selected by the staff, and those are the ones seen now.

Well that is a good question,now I am seeing an image from Naruto.Well I think that all of them come from an anime series,manga,game,artist and that our problem is that we can't possibly know them all,right!I don't know but not all the images seem to be taken from a wall ,I mean I know that one time I looked for that image because I knew from which category she is and didn't find any wall with her!Anyway i think it was a good idea to change them from time to time!
