Prey: the good, the bad, the ugly

What do you think of url=http://www.prey.com/]Prey[/url]?
I've completed the game now, and here's what I think:
The good: I like the original ideas like spirit mode, walk on walls (friends of mine get sick doing this :D).
The bad: weapons are kind of lame. the only really useful weapons are the sniper gun, and rechargable lava/freeze/lightning gun.
The ugly: limited enemies, repetitive lineair gameplay and the dumb AI

This is a fairly good game, kinda revolutionary for what it was, like you said with the spirit mode and walking on walls, also going into the boxes the lead to a completely different area was cool too. The only thing that bothered me was the ending, it was really anti-climatic and wasn't nearly as good as I thought it was going to be.
Yea, sounds like another :Oh crap we ran out of dev time, and the management is busting our balls, lets finish this quickly... ending
Good side: wall-walk, spirit realm(no more annoying "load game after you died"), Living weapons, awsome graphics, living weapons, epic music(from the same guy who did the Oblivion music).
Bad side: Some levels make you feel dizzy, Enemy AI, and for a game developed in 10 or 15 years, its kinda short.
Overall: A good game with unique ideas thats not seen in games today.

This game is a good push forward for FPS games. They story is vary good in my opinion as well as the gravity shifts and the portals. ALl in all it a good game.
Though i have to disagree with you, I though the machine gun was the most useful gun in the game.

I don't think it was nearly as "revolutionary" as people make it out to be. It's got a gimmick or two, but they're either purely superficial or ultimately a bad idea.
The portals, for one, sure looked cool, but in the end they didn't do anything more for the gameplay than things that were already in Quake 3. Trippy, technologically impressive, but nothing i'm going to wig out over. I feel similarly about the wall-walking. It was cool, but even if it did have an impact on gameplay, it sure wasn't pure genius. A gommick at best, in my opinion.
The spirit features were more interesting. I liked its integration into puzzles. What I didn't like was the spirit walk. It removed and any all difficulty from the game. It was impossible to lose. As storytelling goes, that's a bad idea. The baddies should have turned over the moment it became apparent that the human had the one true faith on his side and was unkillable, but for some reason they kept laughing at you, and the one time they saw that it would probably be wise to contain you, they made the mistake of installing a puzzle into their jail cell. Woops! Bad move, guys!
So, yeah. In the end I got bored and put the game away for a long time.
