When I first read and saw screen shots of SotC I was truly amazed. Then I bought it and played it and fell in love. The most beautiful game I have ever played. Not just the graphics, the story and game play. A single man doing anything and everything to save his love. Doing the impossible, the forbidden, and the most selfless acts.

That aside it is also super fun (and sometimes frustrating) to find, climb, and figure out how to kill the colossi. I think the worst one was the sand dragon for me. Riding Argo while shooting him down then jumping on him while he's flying back up in the air. I think it took me 2 hours to finally kill him. On top of that I let my friend borrow it after and he had no trouble with him.

After playing and beating SotC I did some research and found out about ICO. This game had a wonderful story and great art style as well. A story about strangers bonding together to accomplish a single goal. Escape. Placing trust in each other without even being able to speak to one another. They grow in friendship and help each other with their common goal. Even when an evil queen tries everything she can to rip them apart, they hold on and fight for each other.

ICO had everything I had hoped for. Story, puzzles, and difficulty.Although there was a lot less action and seemed a lot less epic than SotC. That was okay, once I grew attached to the characters and started to get a hang of the castles' puzzles I really enjoyed it.

Easily two of the Best. Games. Evar.

It's hard to explain just how awesome those games are without actually getting people to try it. Something about them (Colossus especially) is just EPIC. You get sucked into the whole world and the story, and they both play incredibly well.

It's hard to argue against the epicness of SotC when you witness Wander climbing on that huge colossus XD.

Those two games are easily classics. I can't wait for whatever it is Fumito Ueda does next >_<

When I saw the first scenes about Shadow of the colossus it didn't seem so great for me until i saw the first colossu, after everything changed. That has been one the best games I've ever played so as Ico, both games give that feeling of freedom that just a few ones can get. Everything is a piece of art, you can spend hours just looking at the beautiful landscapes and then go back to the action. I really recommend you these games and I'm dying to play a new one for the PS3, YEAH!

I played them too and I have to say they are both epic.
First I played ICO and I was impressed for all the aspects this game has. First by the graphics, the big backgrounds, the abisms about the castle of ICO, the incredibly well done arquitecture of the building where Ico and Yorda were. The animations of the characters were wonderful and the sound effects suited perfectly with all the game. The story was a little intriging until the end and the final scene...opened for new titles.

And for Shadow of the colossus, same as ICO, incredibly wonderful graphics with enormous escenaries and enemies, realistic animations for the main character and his horse and very addicting gameplay and breathtaking music in the most intense moments.

A must buy and play for every gamer.

Just thinking about it again and hearing you guys talk about it makes me want to play it again. I love how every frame of each game makes a beautiful screen shot, not something you can find in almost any games. The great thing about SotC is how it plays out almost like a movie. The very definition of Epic. If they made one for the PS3 I would have to buy the PS3 just for that game.

Also have you guys seen NICO? It was what SotC was supposed to be. Check out a sample here at YouTube It's also a great movie for those who don't know what we are talking about, it's the basics. You can also check out YouTube for some amazing videos of people doing quick kills of the colossi. It's amazing how they do it in like 1:30 and stuff.

Well i played only ICO and it was PAIN IN THE ASS i hardly beat it and when i saw Shadow of the Colossus i ran away .

I loved shadow of the colossus, one of the most beautifully constructed games i have ever played, with an atmosphere that is second to none.

needless to say im buying ico ASAP

I've got and played all the way through both, I agree, they're both amazing games. I initially preffered Ico, but once SotC came together at the end... well, incase anyone hasn't played it i'll just say the ending is awesome. You guys should check out the guides for it on GameFAQs, theres a massive guide there about story speculations and ideas; it's a very interesting read.

These are easly two of the best games ever made. I liked Ico very much, but it was just too short and it felt abit repetive. I must admit that my favovorite part of the game was when you got alone again. The puzzels became more fun when you did,nt have to worry about her and no monsters to kill.

Shadow of the collosus was pure pleasure to play through. It where so idealistick and everything where so beatuful. The final collosie is by far the most ammazing boss battle of any game that I have played, the music everything fits so welll.

Overall these are both really good game and I can't wait to see what they will cook up on the next gen consoles. :)

Both games are vastly overrated, and are very boring to play.

It's safe to say that there are some who are not to fond of the gameplay of ICO or SotC. But then again, one can't deny that both titles are works of art.

I've got two of these games and they remain as one of my favourite games ever. Both of them have a haunting sense of beauty; and I usually find myself exploring the worlds and climbing nooks and crannies and generally wandering around. =P

I love shadow of the collosus and really need to start activly playing ico. i was playing ico in front of a friend and he actually said this is not a good game, while im completly in shock and awe. needless to say im very glad im not my friend.

I like Shadow of Colossus and have played it over and over again. The battle system (against the Colossus) is great, I just hope that there will be a RPG that adopt this system :D . The music have greatly impact the feel in game play (you know it was wrong if you set the sound to MUTE when you fight against one of Colossi). The scenery doesn't add much to the game play, but IMO it was very enjoyable to see and walk around.
I also heard about ICO, but I can't seem to find the copy on my city, maybe just because it is an old game.

needless to say im very glad im not my friend.

LOL I just hope he's still alive... I bought 2 copies of ICO off of ebay. My copy freezes everytime at a certain spot in the game, and the other copy i bought for my friend which worked perfectly. So it's a gamble if you want to buy it off ebay or amazon, but there certainly are quite a nice amount of copies out there for sale online!
