Fate/stay night

The show is alright so far, but I'm not going to pass judgement yet since only three episodes have been released. As of right now I'm not expecting much from it but I do have a feeling it will pick up once it gets into the heart of the story. The one thing I can comment on for certain is the amazing animation it has, it's very smooth and well done.
*****Warning: Spoilers Ahead******

I have here the most recent blog and review of episode 3. I dunno if anyone would be interested, i will just link here anyway.
IMO, it is very good, the animation is liquid and the fights thus far have proven it to be a worthy watch, the animation is mundane for this episode as the Manager of the Holy Grail war explains the rules and conditions, but overall, we get to see what is the thing behind it all.
We also managed to know that now, Lancer is an ancient Irish hero or mythical legend, it seemed very deep when it comes to describing the origins of their attacks such as Lancer's GaeBolg or something like that, and they put a lot of emphasis on the description of the characters.
I also like how Saber fights with an invisible blade, is that her ability, or is it because of Emiya's lack of power that is causing it? Thus far, some speculations have revealed her to be the spirit of King Arthur, wielder of The Excalibur, which will explain why she is so fiercely loyal and her attitude towards her duty as a Servant.
She also appears to be the strongest of the seven, so I wonder where she will lead.

(i do have some spoilers in my post i guess...)
you got it right, the Servants (except one) are all based off myths, legends, and folklores.. (by the way, that Irish Hero's name is Cú Chulainn =)
There are a total of nine servants by the way.. (one is not a true servant.. and another is not in anime..)
As for Saber: the "Saber" class is the strongest of the seven Servants but that doesn't mean Saber is invinceable..
anyway, the current Saber is based off either two "Arthurs": King Arthur or Arturias the Roman General..
the "invisible sword" is her ability and not of Shirou Emiya's lack of mana.. it's not the sword itself that is invisible but rather the wind sorcery around it that renders it invisible..
Saber has two swords by the way..

Didn't Fate/stay night start as an H-game?

Yes it is.. Search typemoon in google for further information=P.
I have watched the first 3 episodes.
I wonder how much geneon spend on it.
The artwork is *AMAZING*
Although the story goes a little bit too slow and boring, I think it will be better after the story really get start.

Zaita's right, Fate / Stay Night began as an "H-game" that mainly focused on story and development, not the sex ;p
it was TYPE-MOON's first comercial project after Tsukihime.. (they might re-release Tsukihime in the near future)
Fate / Hollow Ataraxia is Fate / Stay Night's "sequel" or rather, it's a fan disk of FSN...

Here is the thing that really challenges the head, what approach will the anime take to replace this part of the Sex?
The story explains that in order to provide the servants with power and mana, the intercourse is necessary to transfer the powers to the servant, hence necessary. However, if the anime is proper, which means either they will censor out this part, or simply remove it and use a new style instead. I assume by some sort of ritual.
I am interested if anyone can provide sources of speculation that is on this matter.

All this considering that the anime will follow the "Fate" branch of the storyline. If they do follow "Fate" then I believe the same thing will happen like Shingetsutan Tsukihime; Skip the whole thing. But on the other hand, Type-Moon is supervising with everything now, unlike Tsukihime, so it might be different. We'll just have to wait and see.

I love this anime so far. It is top on the list of the ones I am currently watching. I have not played the game, though if it was in english I defineatly would =) The story seems like it is going to be very good, with lots of good action. I have been watching a lot of anime like Shuffle! and Suzuka so this is a nice change of pace back to something a little more action packed plus i love the story line.
I thought fate / stay night is airing late at night... maybe that will allow some risque scenes.. or they will have some completely offshoot idea that somehow works with the original mold >_>
type-moon staff was quite unhappy with Shingetsutan Tsukihime, I doubt they will let Fate Stay Night get the same treatment (although i did enjoy Tsukihime..)
I wonder if they will mix the three scenarios... if not, i much rather see "Heaven's Feel" or some variation of it...

Ah yes, IMO, tsukihime anime version was a flop, poor directing and it skip most of the important parts, I hope they do not do that with FSN, which would be a spoil consider how deep it went into the first few episodes.
I hope they scrap the intercourse for mana bit, i rather see some cool magic tricks than a few cliche risque scenes >_>

In the second episode, it was mentioned that Saber's summoning was incomplete, thus making her unable to enter into spirit form to replenish her powers. So I guess that explains the removal of intercourse as a mode of power transfer for the Servants. Saber however...since she's incomplete and can't enter into spirit mode is up to speculation. Maybe by drinking sake or eating sake ala Ah! Megami-sama...just kidding.
And unlike Tsukihime, FSN has more episodes (24 episodes I believe since I haven't checked ANN for quite a while) to give more space for plot and character development. So it is more realistic to say that FSN won't suck as bad as Tsukihime. Whether it will be a good anime we will only find out once FSN has completed its run.

i don't know.. but that doesn't make sense to me... even though IF it was an incomplete summoning, that doesen't rule out intercourse as a method to supply mana to the Servant. and where did it say that the summoning was incomplete? I think you meant Archer..
remember, Master Shirou lacks the proper amount of mana and does not have formal training as a magi to sustain Saber at optimal capacity.. thus she eats and sleeps alot ;p
