I just watch the first season and I can say it was fantastic. >0<

In first episode, it started with blood....that was I like ^ ^ Blood!! 55+
But I'm not completely watch them all 'cause I'm in examination time T^T.

I thing if I have a time, I will watch the whole episode in 1 day 555+

I like the series, but I don't like graphic at all - colours are too "sweet", eyes are to big and blood isn't realistic :( in my opinion it would be more better with diffrent graphic...

I liked the first season, because I have a weakness for horror / gory stories or movies.
But the second season was my favorite. So full of despair about Rika's lives... Besides, it didnt hurt the new character design, cuter and more colorful.

The only thing I didnt liked that much, was all those episodes about Satoko's uncle and the anti-familiar violence movements etc...

But, I think seeing the end of that story was worth it, when you discover who has been behind all of this....

As someone said earlier, I was also buying the DVDs when GENEON decided to retire of the busines... Because of that i had to buy the R2 French ones, which come in a much nicer box, although much more expensive $_$. Now Im only waiting for some ocmpany to license Higurashi Kai.

Season one of Higurashi was very confusing, I couldn't figure out what is going on, why are the children behaving so irrational, violent, and even more so, quite disturbing.
Also how is it after they die, in the next episode, they are alive, and life is all normal, no reminiscence, of the murders, and no one even mentions them.

At first I thought it's kind of an anime for kids, like nice funny characters, having odd plot, and childish events, until they began going insane.

After watching all of season one I was quite puzzled what exactly was going on, and why did 4-5 times everything revert back to normal??
I think it was a very well designed interest, and an opening for a second season, which put ALL of the pieces of the puzzle together.
However I do think that bringing a god into the series was a major No-no....Yes it was a nice plot support, and theory, but still I would like it to be a bit more realistic, at least, but no matter how you look at it it's impossible.

I do however dislike how the creators dragged the Satoko arc a bit too long, and then after all the hard work, it failed in one night. I think it was an unnecessary dragging development. Especially seeing how long it was dragged for, then next time Rika came back she had less time, and Satoko's problem is like non existent....

Well an overall I loved the series, it was great, drama, blood, horror, and thriller like no other.

Great plot, great story, and another open end, where I am clueless at what in the world it means, and how is it possible, and that's why I cannot wait for the next season.

Great anime, a 8/10, very bloody, and enjoyable to watch!
Must see for most, if not everyone.

I enjoyed the show.
After Elfenlied such animes started to make me "curious".
I mean you see cute little girls in the first shot.
and then,suddenly they start to kill each otherO_o
the characterdesign was tipical easy,perhaps sometimes a bit "silly"
in the animation,but who cares about that:)
the relationship between mion and shion was quite amanzing.
you know waht I am talking about.
As I watched the opening theme I expected something like a "double booking"
with the sisters.
my personal fav battle were shion vs rena and rena vs ritsuko.

The animation isn't that great, I'd say. Slightly cheap compared to recent releases. The intensity in the anime is very strong though, and my favorite arcs are the Keiichi/Satoko arc and the Mion/Shion arc. The first one I mentioned is very slow and sad, with one violent killing that comes out of devotion and possibly platonic love. The second one is sweet at the beginning but turns sour, before collapsing into a bloody conclusion which leaves everyone DEAD (except one character).

Currently still watching the 1st season but i have to say that I am in love with it.
Not only including the somewhat sadistic stories and weird turns that happen in the story that is not answered, it is done right. About the animation style, I think they are adapting the game's adaptation to the characters. The game characters are lacking in detail also due to the group producing the game to be more focused on the story than the looks of the game.

btw, OP is probably one of the best I have ever seen.

After I watch all the volumes of first season and second season.
I downloaded all music about the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
Firsr my favorite song is 嘆きノ森(From PS2).
It made me crazy to want to buy all games of PS2.
Every night I listen it everytime and before I go to bed.
Am I crazy? I think yes...XD

I started watching this anime and then stopped because I got scared lol. My friend is telling me to watch it and I definitely plan to.
