To Linux Users of Animepaper:Well I recently got prety fed up with windows, and decided to venture into all this Linux buisness. Until now I got to mess around with slackware Ubuntu distros, beaing that I only maneged to fully install Ubuntu, slack was too complicated for a noob like meUbuntu had all the eye candy and customization I was expecting from linux, but... no avi or mp3 support... so that pretty much blew it, and i'm back where I started ...After downloading those huge imgs, I'm afraid of geting it wrong again, sooo I was wondering if the linux people around here could give me a handI have browsed distrowatch.org, but I'm not finding any convincing go get's, so I want to hear from people that probably have the same needs as I do (this beaing an anime forum & all). I'm basicly looking for full mp3 and video playback (xvid, divx, etc...) compatability in a linux system, if you know a distro that fits that (or some linux app) PLZ share >_<
If all you want is mpeg playback then I'd stick to windows.

Only experienced people use Linux. Since you are downloading images and dealing with multimedia, Linux is not for you. Linux is more for the programming folk. What you want is a Mac. LOL!To get more information on how to use Linux, check out www.sourceforge.net and Google up some help. It's there. There are plenty of nice programmers out there willing to help out noobies.

Once you figure it out, its not so hard. Just dont try to run linux on a 166mhz, I tried: its not pretty. I would suggest Fedora or debian for Newbies.
