I think he rocks! and where i have watched up to so far it seems, that he's the only one powerful enough to take aizen on

He is one of my favorites!! Urahara is probably one of the most powerful shinigami we will ever see. i would bet that he will also even be stronger than ichigo but knows that ichigo needs to be the one to save the world, he already had his chance as a captain class shinigami and would rather teach the next generation on how to defend themselves.

Kisuke definitely ranks among my top favs as far as characters go in Bleach. He's sort of the cliche, laid-back, but all-powerful figure with a colorful past; despite that he's still a badass and I'm pretty sure when all of his power is revealed it'll be quite the sight to see.

Well i don't know ace07, you most likely know nothing about him at all, you DIDN'T know he created the hougyouku, which is THE main reason there is a war between the hollow people and Soul Society. Do you remember your quote in the thread "Is there a level after bankai?"...
Clearly... you have no idea how powerful, intelligent and dangerous this guy is if you did NOT know he created the hougyouku, was exiled from Soul Society because of it, and that the story line is based upon this item created by him. Do you know your stuff?

'Long tym ago sum Shinigami scientist found a way 2 to evolve a Zanpacto to a level beyond Bankai, but its power became too powerfull and unpredictable and as a result the experiments were stopped and the scientist exiled'. Just a thought. Urahara could possibly b the scientist who managed to do that. He did creat that orb thingy that truly unlocks the hollows powers.

Possibly he could have used it on himself, but then again he could have used it on Hirako and the others and created the Vaizard that we all know; not all of them but possibly some.

Hmm thats a good speculation.
anyway...urahara is one of the most important characters in the storyline and even with such a small number of appearances he is one of the driving forces that keep the plot moving. He is manipulating things from the background, he is very strong, uses his mind and his inventions to ridicule his opponents, and we still haven't seen his bankai...
for me this whole shroud of mystery he is covered with adds even more to his coolness. I am also one of those that believe that this guy has actually experimented with hougyouku and as such he is a vizard. Although there's an obvious hole in that speculation since he denied to help ichigo with his "dark side". now was it because he really couldn't or because he had other reasons ? we may never find out. There's still so much character development that can be done on him; its crazy. Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being the ultimate arc-villain of the bleach manga (although i highly doubt that). Still he is very cool and i wish we see more of him in the upcoming chapters.
