I think you're right about giving him more power but armor? Kenpachi is not the type to defend... on the other hand, he's not the type to use kendo techniques but he used it to defeat Nnoitra.

And since you know about what's happened in the manga like i have, which is most likely 30 episodes or more from the current episode, you would know Kenpachi won't achieve bankai. I chose not to say anything coz it is the right for other people to find out for themselves whats happened in the story by reading the manga, so i let them discuss over a bankai for Kenpachi.
Since you do know whats happening in the manga you wrecked the story, and you hypothesised over bankai when you know Kenpachi doesn't have one.

Yes he isn't the type to defend but that's because he likes to attack so much more! Adding armor would mean he can attack longer.

Omg kenpachis zampakutou! xD very cool, he is so strong !! i was wondering if he can make a BANKAI,!omg ... he was so strong, he just bam one time that freaky spada and now its dead xD... as we can see the things with this big man is going to that direction, I Know kenpachi dont like to speak with his sword, but he have to do it, if he wants to fight one one, the others spada...
