Looks or personality?
I'm not into looks I'm more in the inner beauty like good sense of humor. It's more fun to talk to someone who knows how to make you smile and to avoid the conversation being boring. Rather than having a good looks but he doesn't know how to start a conversation... duh!?! I really hate it! thinking for a topic is really hard especially if you don't know the personality or the attitude of the person. So I'll just go with a man with a good personality..^^
I think that would depend on a lot of factors, might go either way, depends on the percentage of beauty there is on offer and the percentage of intellect on offer. Either way I would have to say that it would almost certainly come to a situation where it needs to be, well... a little give and take for both.
If given a chance to pick from a large pool everyone will pick I assume, that everyone would go for the ones gifted with both the looks and the intellect. ehehhe. Anyway who wouldn't? Lol, what else to do as I've said depends on your needs, eheheh. Depends on so many factors, the time, the place and the duration of whatever is interest. I guess that most people would go for the looks, yeah, basic instincts rule! Think later, do whatever makes you happy LOL.

Personality, with some looks, of course. I mean, you can't tell whether a person has a good personality or bad personality without getting to know them first, but you sure can tell whether he/she is good or bad looking before approaching them. Though looks can be deceiving in this age :\ liposuction and plastic surgeries and whatnot T_T

Definitely personality. It's a must for a good relationship to have someone you can understand and who can understand you. And looks don't help much here.
Just like longbow i go for both, but i too look for a good personality. My girlfriend right now has a great personality and she is good looking so i think i fished in a good one
Looks are nice, but they fade eventually. I need to be able to have a conversation with my partner. Nothing says boring like a good-looking man who can't take a joke or understand what's going on in the world.

LongbowI usually go for both, though I weigh personality more heavily, I mean, I'm always asking myself, "What would it be like to be with that girl for the rest of my life?" I'm not looking for a uber pretty girl, just someone thin and doesn't put a lot of make up. I like a girl with a shy and quiet personality, and not too quiet to the point where she hardly says anything to you on a date. She's gotta be smart and knows how to cook lol
lol, i agree with longbow, before thinking about a girl you like you should think about what it would be like spending the rest of your life with her and probably use that to make up your mind. Personally i think personality is more important but It never hurts to have a good personality and look nice right? :D

And i would never EVER date a bitchy hot girl or a really ugly nice girl (well, i know im gonna get flamed by girls for this statement...).
Though to be honest, in terms of friendship, i have this line "You age, your race, your gender, your appearance dont mean anything to me, as long as you are a decent person to talk to". I dont lie. I go by that line which i suddenly made up one day.
So i guess, if i were to befriend a girl, even if she were really ugly, but i could talk a lot of stuff to her (we have a lot of similarites and enjoy a lot of same things), i probably wouldnt care about her looks.

I'll need a balance of both. I mean if I can't stand someone, I sure as hell am not going to come within 20 feet, unless it's to smack them upside the head. Then again I can't get up the guts to go out with something that looks like it came from the sewage of a factory 30 miles up stream. It sounds cold, and you're free to call me shallow for that, but I'm reasonable, and will flex more than a sleep number bed on like a 15/100. At least that's what I'd like to think.

When you meet someone you're attracted to it will seem as if they have both the looks and personality that are ideal for you.
LOL this is hard... hmmm...I don't really know what to choose. I want a cute guy but not when that guys has a personality of a JERK. Then again... I want a guy with personality but I'd have second thoughts if the guy looked like some acne obsessed nerd!!
