I hope.. Escape to another time!

Not sure how complicated time traveling would be.. if someone was to murder a person in the past , what would happen to their descendents..?

We all wish it was possible, but quite frankly, I believe it to be impossible. 'Time' is something humans came up with - it is a concept, and you "can't" travel within a concept because it doesn't actually exist. We use the concept of time to explain things, when really we don't actually understand it at all.
Well...
personally, i always believed that there are many things humans have yet to discover and know of.
and i guess time travel might be one of them.
so yea, i believe that we can possible time travel but it is just not now. maybe in far future but not soon :P

There are theories as to how but there are some ways to go back in time that we do know but they arent going back in time as most people would think, its just a cheap consolation prize we have so far. oh and even if time travel was possible you cant go back any further than when time travel was invented, cause and effect.

Time travel is not possible right now, no. Is it possible in the future? Possibly.
It would be hard for me to say anything that haven't already been said, but I'll do it anyway, just because >:).
Most people suggested the "Twin Pradox" approach to time travel, meaning that we have to achieve a speed very close to the light. Although no one took in account Einstein's resolution of that problem wich he explained in 1918, which states that the gravitational fields will correct the difference in the time shift, so to say.
The dude ranting about people taking a high school class in physics is correct about the fact, that it's impossible to reach the speed of light for any object with mass, due to the required amount of energy, which is infinite. This is the reason why only photons, massless particles with wave characteristics, are able to achieve that speed. Though to travel in time (according to the "Twin Pradox" theory), you don't necessarilly need to achieve the speed of light, you just have to come close to it (or as close as possible anyways, considering it'd still require quite a lot of energy to accuire that speed).
Also mentioned, but, there's also another theory on time travelling, involving "folding through" dimensions. Of course it is based on this theory: http://www.tenthdimension.com/flash2.php
Anyways to fold through dimensions we need to get a hold of a worm hole and be able to create black holes. Again, theoretically.
Anyways, I don't think time travelling is anywhere in the near future. A clear example of that is the fact that politicians are arguing like little school girls with scientiscts over new experiments with LHC, because it can create minor black holes, which politicians believe can get out of control...Blah, the whole thing is just ridiculous.

Ahhh, I thats kinda possible, because when a person changes back the time then what would happen to other people, and i don't think he can change the time back and forth again maybe only once. . . It's really complicated, for example, one man is 56 yrs old. he changes the time back to 10 years, so he is already 46, so he will change his past but cannot go back that fast, he wil just have to continue the time where he is until he reaches his 56th and continue again. . . because when he changes time, what happens to other people? Of course I think it will happen globally, so everyone will experience it. . .

longbowHundreds of years ago, people thought it was impossible for humans to fly, but we've managed to do that. Lots of the stuff today we do and take for granted, hundreds of years ago people could only dream of doing. I'd like to think of time traveling as one of those things that we're dreaming right now, but perhaps, just perhaps, 200 years from now or something, someone does invent a time machine of some sort. It's pretty far-fetched, but then again, lots of the stuff we do today seem pretty far fetched back then.
There still some question to be ask is it possible or not
that question need to be answer when we can travel through time. there's some theory that we can travel through time by using the time space which is now still think that would be impossible but from my opinion using light of speed just like in the movie star trek but travel past before time now that would be weird there also have some theory like teleportation like the movie jumper he's jumping from place to place in a blink of eyes but that is all only theory there's no fact at all it's different with plane train space shuttle and also relative formula E=MC2 by Einstein.
if some day people can travel fast past through light now that is amazing and I think that would possibly happen cause now human can make plane that is faster than sound break the sound barrier

Time travel would be completely awesome, but we would definitely just ruin our universe as well as our parallel universes. We would simply use it for personal gain, a.k.a. world almanacs with all the information on betting games or lottery numbers, etc. etc.
I would have to say well it could be possible, even the most contemporary physicists have been saying that it would be possible may be not now but probably sometime in the future, if not that it is theoretically possible and couldn't be achieved. Anyway the possibility exits that we could achieve it. I too have read many novels on involving the concept of time travel and I had rather enjoyed many of these novels even though lots and lots of those had tons of loop holes with infinite possibilities of what might have been. Lol...ehehehhe.
When it comes to movies it gets terribly worse than those offered by the novels, I would have to say that in any coherent way we have yet to make movies even with obscure plot lines that could be at the same level as those offered in the novels on traveling time. The concept of time and space the time space fabric is enthralling to the human mind in many ways that even though we have yet to grasp these ideas fully to do anything useful. Eheheh.

I like this topic. It's something that questions the natural world around us, making us think deeper on the complexities of the simplest things. Personally, I do not believe that time travel is possible. It makes for nice stories and interesting plots, but is intangible in essence.
I'll say impossible till there's a living example. but there's no such things in this world. time traveling? it would be fun. but there's no witnesses for this case. or maybe they are missing because time traveling? like something like that would happen... even so, it would be fun if we can time traveling.
While I do admit being able to time travel would be pretty awesome, I don't quite see it as possible, at least not yet. For one, time isn't something concrete and it definitely isn't something human science can fully understand, even now. Then again, a lot of things were thought impossible in the past and look at us now.
So while I'm quite sure it won't happen in this generation, who knows? It might happen in the next generation, or the next, provided the human race isn't gone by then.

We are used to thinking about machines doing this task...Maybe machines in the future might do that, but now it's impossible.
We may also think about energy, but what's true is that time exists only in certain parts of the universe, that is, time is something that reacts in proper conditions. We just need to understand how the space grows in the universe, how the energy flows and how stars "live", and most of all, how everthing were made. Technology will follow our necessity, like teleporting: We are able to teleport one atom nowadays, imagine twenty years later from now...

I think it's potentially going to screw up a lot of lives, but yes its possible if anything is possible :]
