Manners?
Me, I try to keep good manners whenever I can, and respect people who maintain them as well. Though I'll admit, sometimes, it's hard when I'm not in the mood
Manners = important if you aren't a Hikkikomori =D!
Afterall, we live in the society, not by ourselves =D
Take example as a salesman knocking just three times and compared to one that knocks hundreds time. That's just a really simple example of behaving + manner.

I think the amount of mannerism you have heavily depends on how you were raised. If you lived all your life showing no manner at all, and having no one to tell you what was well mannered or not, then of course you wouldn't have any.
However, there are people who know exactly what manners are and ignore it completely on purpose.
I think a certain level of mannerism is nice to have.
I also think too much mannerism makes you distance yourself from others too much to the point of insult.
Basic rule of mannerism is, personally, to be 'nice' or 'considerate' of the other person or others around you. Do not do anything that may possible offend others, even in an indirect way.

I don't really care much about that but it bothers me when my little brother shouts at my aunt and plays megaman during breakfast plus he doesn't wash his hands after he pees(totally disgusting!!). I tell him to stop these things all the time but he ends up kicking me or shouting at me which angers me or bothers me even more. I just want him to learn to respect others and get clean. I mean, I don't want to touch what he touched after peeing. That's gross.. >_< I'm more concerned about what other people think of what we're doing. I think I'm sensitive to the needs of others because when the class is very rude and noisy I usually observe how others react and how my teacher reacts and when I see she's not liking it, I try to prevent my classmates from making our teacher angrier. XD
Manners are incredibly important either with just friends or in the professional world. It doesn't matter if you're having a backyard bbq, there's a fine line between going too far and being immature, and being humorous. To be personally, manners not only show a person's maturity but also his or her lifestyle. If a boy doesn't get up to open up a seat for an elderly, I look down upon the parents or even the environment the boy grew up in. Education has a strong correlation to manners in my opinion.
Good manners opens may doors and people will respect you and won't "hate" you easilly. If you are polite "society" will treat you well.
I'm a bashful person...So I tend to have good manners, but i just wonder i get attached with people with slightly bad manners...(not really dangerous) but sometimes pissing off...but you'll get used to them as time goes by..

I think manners is somethink like the language of respect.
I Show every humn respect but not if he give me a reason not to do that so will my manner in front of that person change.

I always try to and mostly succeed in behaving in public.
I've grown used to behaving myself in public I've always acted too mature for my age (my friends have mentioned it), that's why I don't like having bad manners in public anyways because I hate getting attention or when people look at me because I did something that stood out. In terms of manners, I'm more concerned about being sanitary, it pisses me off when my family members don't do their dishes properly or don't wash their hands before and after eating.

I think they're important.
I mean, when someone bumps into you and its obviously not your fault and they walk away, I'd be spiting them from behind. Is it so hard to mutter a simple "sorry" ? Honestly. I mean, I suppose its okay with friends... But still. There are times when you just should say sorry, rather than go off all high and mighty thinking you yourself is in the right. And well, this girl I know (supposedly best friend) is the rudest thing you'll ever meet. You might like her at first (I did) but her attitude and manners got really annoying later on. When she bumps into you she'd say "Why'd you bump into me for huh?!" with a happy face, but serious voice. Eugh. It annoys me immensely. And her jokes... are so offensive. But I pretend to laugh along so she doesn't feel ostracized.
I always usually apologize regardless of whether I'm in the wrong or right. I even give a little bow : P. But when I do, and the person, after hearing me say that apologizes back, I get annoyed also. It's almost like they only apologized because you said it as well?
*sigh* D:

Manners are really important because with them you show everyone else how respectful you are and how you wanna be treated.
I must say that manners are an important part of my life, I like to be as gentlemanly and chivalric as I possibly can be, as it makes me feel like less of a wretched piece of human refuse. Manners are included in this to a large degree, please, thank you, holding doors, offering aid if I can and aren't feeling too timid at the time. So I'd say it's a rather important part of being a good person.
It's strange how some others can be about it, I've had a person tell me that manners aren't important when you're with your friends before, and I couldn't see that as more wrong, surely friends are the people you should most show the care and consideration to show good manners to.
