This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Well I bought my copy a few days ago, after getting the money for it, it was a little more expensive than I had hoped and I've gotta say that while it certainly deserves its "10" score I only have one complain (not that it's a big fault or that it was actually expected) and it is that you can't do "regular" activities (strip clubs, darts, pool) with your friends on free mode, it would've been an EXCELLENT addition but oh well, guess it already is too perfect, maybe they're saving that up for the next one :D

Well, like the past generation, I wouldn't be too surprised if we got branch-offs like GTA3 got with Vice City and San Andreas. Like GTA3 was to GTA2, it was more of a testing ground of what they could do if they went to the next step. I think they're now getting feedback we'll probably see some changes, possibly in downloadable content or in branch-off games.

In other news. I'm going to put this under a spoiler tag as this is a potential spoiler for anyone who hasn't completed the game yet.

SPOILER (click to view)

Just to clarify I would like any responses to that spoiler tag to also be put under a spoiler tag because there are people who have yet to finish the game. Thank you.

Can anyone who has GTA4 tell me if the multiplayer is good for PS3? So far i've only heard mixed reviews. Thanks!

The multiplayer for PS3 is fantastic but sometimes the amount of fun you have on it varies due to the match's stipulations. Like, for example, I don't really enjoy the airport only deathmatches because the map is too small and fairly boring. Free mode all around the city with police on though is beautifully hectic.

I think this suffers too much from Wind Waker syndrome where the map is way to big for its own good. Its not a bad game its just that the city is really boring and that was a huge disappointment to me.

First, I think this is the first I've heard of Wind Waker actually being too big.

I'm not sure if I'm fully following your argument. GTA 4 is actually smaller than San Andreas and it's much more active than any of the previous GTA games. It's suppose to mimic a real city and as you know, real life can tend to be very boring on the surface. I've found that the game is as interesting as you make it. If you don't bother to do much of anything, it'll come off as really boring. I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't understand the argument. I can seeing it as being really big, but being boring is another story. It is a video game and as such, a form of entertainment. Games are only going to be as exciting as you make them, generally.

My main problem with the game is that no familiarity is developed between you and the area. It is extremely difficult to find a place on the map without a waypoint even many hours into the game, if the city was half the size it would have been a better game(huge pet peave of mine), same with san andreas.

My wind waker complaint is that there is nothing of substance gained by its size. It just makes it tedious when your looking for stuff. I do like windwaker, the worst of the 3d zelda games is still an easy 9/10+.

It is a large improvement over the others in the area but when I heard that the line between mission and non mission was blurred I thought it would be more than dates and that was what actually made me really exited about the game. As opposed to, oh it will be good its a new gta, i guess i'll buy it used after it goes down in price a little. I was thinking exploring and zelda kinda stuff.

But i am probubly being overcritical in this regard as it is better than 90% of sandbox games in the area.

No wonder why GTA4 got 10 out of 10 on gamespot.com
The game is so beautiful and it's marvelous that Rockstar made Liberty City look like NY a bit. The car simulator in the game sure is great too, way better than the other GTA games.

Really? I thought the sailing segments took way too long and really detracted from an otherwise good game. More dungeons would have been nice, too.

As for GTA... I think it was pretty good but no way was it worth 10/10. I'm sure Gamespot just pumped that up due to how huge a title it was. I really don't trust GS anymore; happily however I do cruise a few community boards full of people whose opinions I do trust. Either way, as far as the size of the city goes, I don't mind especially (I rode in taxi's a lot and just skipped the drive; not like you didn't have enough money), however when someone called to hang out and they were on the other freaking side of town, that certainly got annoying.

Edited version? There's an edited version? But I'll agree for the most part it was easy.

I'm surprised people still use Gamespot as a reliable source for gaming reviews. There's many things I find wrong with their reviews. The Kane & Lynch debacle showed that marketing plays some role in their reviews but that most of their pros and cons to a game are somewhat hypocritical or just plain out-stupid. I'm not really one to listen to reviews much anymore, if the general consensus of a number of reviews is good then I accept it's worth a play.

Sweet Bejesus, that was hell when Alderney became available and travel to. You would be completing the missions available there and someone like Brucie phones you and expects you to drive from Alderney to Broker just to hang out. I think that it's something they should either improve on in a later game or just scrap it altogether. That being said I do like the cellphone concept a lot.

The only positive point of the game is the weapons which actually are not that good either, the controls for weapons in the past were terrible, and the character controls themselves were lacking. I mean running from the police right down the road, or not having the capability to crouch down or take cover and Again all drastically changed. Like I said, you should rent it at least. It's only going to be a couple of bucks and it's not like you'll have it forever. Just another game to add to the list have-played-can-judge. Not that I'm a Rockstar salesman by any chance. Just some of the stuff people are saying GTA is crap about right now, most of it has been changed.

I couldn't agree more.

I cannot say that I have... Now you've given me the urge to roam the internet for these myths.
