How does you family feel about Anime?

Haha. My parents don't really like anime but they feel that its alot better than western t.v. and cartoons now a days. I am about the only person in my household who truly likes anime. I guess they are all just missing out :D
My dad is fine with it, he even use to watch anime with me

Well im the only one that wacthes anime in my house...but my sister likes it too..but meh she doesnt have time to watch it but its ok...my mom...hmm she doesnt like it..she just loves Pikachu

Dude i live in Brazil and i really like anime
At first my family think is thing for kids

in my family only I watch anime
My father doesn´t know what anime is and my mother thinks i watch cartoons and says "oh, you still watching this cartoons for children?" when I´m watching Elfen Lied or Hellsing, for example. and my brother thinks I´m strange. But I will not change, I love anime... heh heh

Only my sister doesn't like the fact that I am into the animanga world. My parents could care less and my brother reads manga and watches anime from time to time. It's more of a hobby than an unhealthy obsession. I don't hug the monitor every day.

I mostly just read manga. I don't watch anime as much as I used to. And when I was young my mother always made anime seem like a bad thing for me seeing as I focused on it more then school work.
Aw man well me and my sister do, but my parents just think its silly and call it stupid, which is really annoying and upsetting cos its a huge patr of my life,

My parents don't really mind, unless I'm watching it non-stop or discarding homework/study because of it. One of my friends on the other hand, has parents that are totally against any Japanese-related things because of cultural conflict (history, go figure). So because of this problem, the only way in which he can actually watch Anime without his parents being a nuisance is when they're out of the house, or in the morning before school. Although I've to admit it gets awkward at times, especially when they surprise you with one of their 'inspections'; oh great, more fan-service! *parents walk in* "..." -- I s-swear I'm not watching anything inappropriate, no lies! D:
I think, my family seems to be okay with anime. my bro and my cousins watch anime too...

I constantly have to remind my parents that most of the Anime i watch is not for my younger siblings. They think Anime is just another type of cartoon but i have shown them that most of the shows i watch are very graphic violent or have sexually explicit undertones. Though myself and my other brother both love anime, so much so that i am the president Kita-Kon, a convention in Thunder Bay.
My sister is the main-anime-watcher in my family. I have only watched around 3 Anime my whole life, and they were all pretty enjoyable. If you ask for my opinion on Anime, I would say that it is a complete waste of time, and should be viewed on rare occasions, should you feel up to it. I know there are some people who watch Anime for hours and hours, and it is not a good thing... There are so many other things you could be doing, plus Anime quality is just poor..
