How does you family feel about Anime?
My brother got me into anime and my mom loves Death Note. :p
My mom likes Pokemon - let's say more or less Pikachu XD
The hype has been continuing since I was in elementary school (the first time I watched it) ~_~

I doubt anyone else in my family would even know what "anime" is if I asked them. XD I'd have to spell it out as "Japanese Animation" for them to even get an idea, and even then they probably couldn't name a single series. Oh well.

*sigh* Unfortunately I am alone. Even as a kid everyone thought it was weird I liked anime or video games as much as I did. It just proved I was a tomboy. But since I still like anime even after all these years, it obviously didn't phase me.
@sparky-chan123:
I hate it when people judge just like that. When I was 10, I loved the Pokemon Trading Cards, so I was always with boys. I also love video games, so I'm still with boys until my senior year. Even won a PS1 off a bet in Tekken. :p

Well, my brother watches some Animes too, but he's not really a fan of Manga or Anime, so I'm pretty much alone with my hobby...my mother doesn't like them at all, thinks it childish and silly, but well...I wouldn't ever try to convince her that Animes aren't just cartoons, 'cause she's not listening anyway ang she doesn't even want to know more about it, even if it's my greatest hobby.
I can't think of any other family member who would watch Anime, except of maybe my cousin, but he just watches Animes and Cartoons, he's too young to even distinguish these two.

It's really funny! cuz sometimes when i see some great anime on the tv [ which's really rare here in my country to see animes cuz the most are the disney or any other cartoons are famous here ] anyways when i see an anime my reaction will be like .. Yayz! or finally! and i must know when the time for this anime ... and my father was looking at me in a funny way and said .. you're too old for cartoons! and i was like this --->
<---- , i told him that the animes are different from the kids cartoons and he said they're all kids shows! but no matter what i say no one will understand the anime here [ in my house!
] lol xD

My mom dosen't know what anime is, just that I watch "cartoons"
and she dosen't care because it keeps me glued to the computer / tv :p

Well, Actually my family doesnt know how deep is the anime world but from their point of view its OK.
Anyway the know I control my life and I choose what I see.

Well.. My parents gets annoyed when I watch anime or play games especially my father who always says "Aren't you old enough to watch these things". My mother is only complaining of the space my collection is taking inside my room. my younger brother & sister watch some anime, but they aren't fully interested in anime.
I have a good bunch of friends from college who are addicts to anime, we even meet every weekend to exchange anime fansubbed series, wallpapers & ost, & play some Naruto Shippuudenn Narumet Accel 2....I'm not alone & thats satisfactory

I can't say that I am the only one who watches anime in my home. I mean my brother also watches some, although his genre preference is limited only to Kids stuff, like Doraemon, sometimes Naruto/Gundam SEED and Recently the Daughter of Twenty Faces…...
My mom also watches although she prefers to watch anime movies especially work from Studio Ghibli. My father on other hand is not a Fan but he sometimes joins Mom watching them, he doesn’t hate it - BUT my Father says "I’m obsessed with anime" >_<
So I guess it is safe to say that we all watch anime, but I watch them alone most of the time since I watch all kinds, and it would definitely be awkward if I did watch some in my collection with them and trying explaining, what's going on, to them .. xD
My mum likes anime, especially Miyazaki's movies. :3 My little brother likes a few of the anime I watch too, though he's more interested in ecchi-related series... -_- He claims to be "obsessed" with anime but then acts like I'm a freak when I obsess over it, so I dunno...

In my household, I'm the only one who watches anime; outside of the household, my aunt and a few cousins watch it, but thats about it. Most of my family thought it was merely a phase, but they've pretty much accepted me as 'that weird girl who likes Asian stuff' so I don't think they mind it anymore. My mom is pretty open, she'll try to understand it and says it feels weird not hearing Asian music when she comes home.
People in general just don't know anything about animes. Animes are so complex because there are lots of diferent kinds of anime and almost everyone can like at least some of them but has to watch first.
