StellarXInochi's wallpaper is a beautiful piece of art combined with excellent design and an outstanding concept. The soft, yet bright colors create a fairytale-like atmosphere, and the water-color-like execution meets a successful typograhy and makes the wallpaper something special.

Same here, my friend used to be somewhat interested in anime. However, nowadays he's busy with work and school and basically ignores it.

I am in college, and I'm actually part of the anime club here on campus, and it was pretty good, and we go to major anime conventions together and what not, so hopefully we will still know each other in the future because anime is going with me... as for meeting people outside of school, I know this guy I work with who is a anime fan, and also someone else at my job who is an anime fan as well, though I don't know the person too well, but it seems like she is from all of the shirts that she wears: most of them portray anime! ...but yeah, that's all for me...

I'm 22 right now and I'm still talking to most of my anime friends that I met in high school. I also have a few friends who are into anime outside of the school and college; in fact, I hung out with them today as well. We went to the movies to watch Iron Man, which is a good movie by the way. It seems like for me I have less time to hang out with my anime friends, because of college and work. So as soon I get the chance to hang out with anime friends I will do so. Speaking of work, a co-worker at my work as likes anime as well. We will talk about anime every once in while, but we have never hung out before.

I would consider myself a slight otaku.

I watch anime on a regualr basis with my friends, most of whitch eother already watch anime or I got them into it.

I use to watch a lot of anime with my current apartment-mate (friend since Jr High).

More recently I watch with all my apartment mates including my girlfriend, which luckly, loves anime too!

My school has an anime club, but I don't go. I am kinda afraid of the people there they tend to be very loud and overtly otaku. It is not like I don't want to be seen by them, far from it. I very openly talk about anime and try to get new friends or people I know into it. It seems to me their overt otakuness is a bit excessive.

I, too (like the OP), am an older person who likes watching anime. Being 27, I have found things tend to dwindle after high school years; those who like anime and those who don't are akin to friends you used to have and the select group you ultimately end up with for whatever reason. The number of people I consider friends whom I watch anime with/speak of anime with ironically hasn't lessened while "weeding out" former friends. It's almost as if interests I've kept close to me are what appear on the cover if my physical frame was a book.

Alas, I certainly can relate to the friendship issues, but there are places to meet fellow otaku. I attended Anime Weekend Atlanta last year and fully intend to do it again this year. It's wild to see people cosplay left and right, and to help matters I found myself staring at 30+, 40+ year olds (yes, women included) who were right in there with everyone else.

The number of people liking anime hasn't dropped low, have no fear. I became rest assured in this staying the time I did at AWA. I do hope there're some good series on the horizon to keep bringing in the hoards, however. ;) (Claymore season 2, I'm looking at you.) edit: I know Claymore season 2 isn't on the way, but if there's not one at some point in the future, I'll whine. :(

I graduated college last year, and I've never really had a problem finding anime to watch with other people. Then again, for me, anime is not the consuming hobby of my life. It's just a part of it. I love animation from all across the world, it just so happens that the japanese produce an astounding amount.
Anyways, when I was in college, since my major was animation, I saw and met plenty a fan. Problem was, most of the people who went to my school in my major that were anime fans ended up failing out because that was all they would do. And anime in general does not have very good animation. This is obviously not including the minority of incredible films like Akira and Paprika.
Right now, I live with my boyfriend, and we have a friend and coworker of mine staying with us. We will all get together in the living room and watch some anime like Noein, or Aquarion. I don't like to watch anime on the TV by myself. It's more fun with other people. But, we don't only get together to watch anime, we'll sit down and watch 101 Dalmatians, chowder, or foster's home for imaginary friends.
I have to say...I find the vast majority of adult anime fans to be creepy. All the ones I have met still live in mom's basement, and wear their evangelion shirts with their half naked figures of asuka and rei around. Liking anime is fine when you're older, but letting it consume your life and get in the way of everything else (like getting a decent job and maybe moving out of mom's house) is another story.

I am a 26-year-old, too.and I also like animation, collect a lot of animation. I will and I and those interested in the same friends watched the animation. I rarely, and other fans of animation together, we mainly through the network to share each other's. Recently, I began to use my vacation days, beginning with those on the network of mutual exchange of liaison animation fans, hope that we can come together, talk about the Excitement of animation. I hope to organize an event.

I'm an older anime fan, but I generally don't socialize with other anime fans except for conventions. Even then, the teens that seem to make up most of the fandom these days are generally interested in anime that I'm not, and a lot of them seem to be there mostly to dress up and hang out, rather than to have any serious discussion. I know a lot of people at my work watch anime, but none of them are big otaku.

I don't really mind all that much, because I can go on the internet and chat on forums etc...

Ermmm not really...obsessed with it at all. I don't really associate with otaku's
that much either XD. cause then they go off and talk about another anime that
i never heard or watched X_X, but i guess you can say i love anime.
