Not really, not because i don't want to but because i don't know that many but the few friends i know that like anime, well lets just say we have something else to talk about... so yeah i think it improves socializing although i haven't really met new people because of it

I only have one Otaku friend that I met 1 year after I graduated high school, but now he lives in another state. So now I hang out with Gun-owners and artists in my state.

None of my friends watch anime. Well some of them do, but not the ones I watch. They are more into the usual Bleach, Naruto, etc... anime. I wouldn't mind having friends that watch the same Anime that I do, so I can discuss stuff with, good thing there is the internet.

Well. I'm going to be 20. *sniff* and I thought i'd have grown out of anime by now. But I have'nt so It's still happening. I know a couple of college mates who are into anime. But I don't think they will be for much longer. It's sad but true. It's hold is slowly loossening upon us. Anime is no longer a unique art form. It's beggining to meld with everything else.
I'm a 34 year old single mother and I must say, finding more anime obsessed people like me are easier then you would think. Be it online, at the random con, or in my neighborhood grocery story, they are surprisingly plenty full. And then there is the fact that I have older kids [19 and 15] and between the three of us, you would be hard pressed not to find something in our anime and manga collections.
It's kinda sad really, hopelessly addicted.

I'm an upcoming freshman college... and
probably...the easiest way to gather fellow anime otakus is attending anime conventions... or befriending with your random classmates who are of the same interest to that of you...in other words, i have countless in school, but not all of them aren't my close...

When I was in High School, I was never into anime but it just started when I entered college. Most of my classmates back then was very into animes so I tried to watch some too. So my experience was somehow opposite to yours, but I can say that 18+ anime fans do hang out, at least in my location...
I'm almost 30, working, studying, with no time to get married for now, and having few but very dear otaku friends. We met at one of the anime events we have in my country and we got along pretty fast. It's rather difficult making friends in such conditions, so I feel fortunate.

Many of my friends watch anime but it is a little harsh to call them Otakus because of that...But seldom hang out with them since i'll be too busy watching anime at home anyway lol.
No I don't only because there aren't many others that I know around me who are Otaku. When I ask people if they like anime, they're like "Yeah I like watching Naruto, Inuyasha, Death Note..." That's cool and all but still not enough.

I actually got more opportunities to meet other otakus when I graduated high school.
I usually meet them in my uni school but some I got from local forums in my place.
But I also get the point when you get older, the less anime for you. maybe its the amount of load that you need to think of but anime is not a load. for me its a stress reliever

I'm 19 and go to university in merry old England, we have an Anime Society dedicated to watching and appreciating anime and manga, so yay, fellow appreciators abound.
I'm currently 25 and engaged and such and I do not meet other otaku anymore as much but I never did in school anyway since I only began when I was 17 and stared University, since I left University I have not really met any new fans of anime and most are just childish little arrogant idiots who think anime is for "cool" people.
I love my anime still and collect like a crazy person, my financè is not into anime really but she is supportive of it!
To question, no do not hang out with otaku anymore and not even on the internet, have couple of friends and we leech from each other that about it!
