Kan'u Unchou Scan to Vector-Wall
1 Page: [ 1 ]
Okay, I'll start explaining what I wanted to do here. I was looking through the scans here and then I found this really amazing scan of Kan'u Unchou I really liked and I just wanted to make it a wall, so I thought I would just do one of those scan to wallpaper like some I've seen.
So, I vectored the pic using a different technique from my past vectors, this was my first time using gradients to vector and so here is my attempt:

Vector was made in about 2 weeks cause I recently had an injury on my wrist so I had to put my hand to rest every now and then. (^_^;;;
So, what do ya guys think? is it acceptable yet?

Its a bit too blank for my taste, i guess. but the work done must be good - not a specialist in vectors myself, that's why I'm saying... I'm not confident in using that bright backgrounds though, even though this might be a question of taste... but I'd see it rather calling when it had something else instead of the blank white background...
I'd have to agree. I'd do something a bit more with the background, as to what it'll be up to you. You can still keep it simple and still go with the theme in mind, but I don't think it'd be accepted as is.
Personally, I'd also recommend going for 1600 x 1200 for future resolutions. Therefore, you can still use it for 1024 x 768 while those who use a higher resolution can still use the background as well. As is, you greatly limit the amount of people who can enjoy your work on their desktop. Heck, it never hurts to have widescreen either

The vector is beautiful so well done on that ^_^
I have to agree with everyone else though I think it needs a tad more work. At the moment it's so plain that it may not be accepted. Seeing as it looks like the girl is laying on a bed sheet it might be quite nice to continue the bedroom theme and draw in some more of the bed... Or maybe even a wall or rest of the bedroom in. If you go for the wall idea maybe stick a window in there with some pretty flowy curtains, although you might have to be careful with light sources if you go for an idea like that.
This really does have a lot of potential to be a beautiful wallpaper, just a little more work on the background is all it needs. I'm sure you can do it though, with the way you did the vector so well so far you'll have no problem ^_^

Vector is beautifully done
i agree too, its pretty much plain, although being simple is good, being too simple isn't'
i agree with the flowy curtains, and you do have to be careful to lighting effects, transparent curtains are nice, so it has a soft color

Thanks alot for all the comments! and thanks Cessa and Soft-meanie for the compliments to my vector and all the suggestions (^ ^) I agree with you all, this wall still feels a bit empty and too simple, at first I thought I could do a curtain there but I was unsure if I could be able to do that or not, but after reading your comments I gave it a try. This time I drew the rest of the bed and put a curtain there, it was my first time doing a curtain so it turned out a little not so good thou (^ ^); and I still think somethings weird about this wall but im not sure what it is.. what do you all think?
Heres the link for the new version of the wall:

Perspective is completly wrong now
and the colors dont fit, this way the char and BG arent blending
only advice i can give, is for you to continue working on the 1st version you've done, and stick with it.

Yeah, I think this still needs a lot of work, well I'll go look to some more walls to get some inspiration and ideas. Thanks everyone! (^ ^)

Very nice vector wall so far... hopefully it'll be in higher resolutions, as well?
The coloring and detail is wonderful thus far, though, you could add a bit more detail to it, in the end, if you have the time and the will (which, imo, would make it look even better, but that's just me).
Nice job and keep up the great work! ^^
