You certainly have a reason to be annoyed!
For me, even some small habits can be really irritating, especially if I mention them to the person and they do nothing to correct themselves.
Little things; pet peeves, can be very irritating, such as bad driving habits or not cleaning dishes well...
You can try to help the person by gently mentioning it to them and trying to get them to change, but it's their decision, and some habits can't be unlearnt.
In that case, I guess you just have to deal with it with an optimistic attitude! It's certainly what I try to do; I try not to let things like that get between me and someone else. It's not worth getting angry over!

You're not so bad really. I irk powerpoint switches that are left on with nothing plugged into them. They're everywhere in school and I'd be walking to class with someone and I'd be like "Wait right there..." just to switch em off.
But I've always been a bit obsessive compulsive when I was little, I guess some of it carried over xD

Oh god, don't even think like that about yourself. Anyone everywhere would get mad at things like that. You aren't the only person who gets irritated at small things either. I just got out of high school, and there are things that just get over the top.
One of my friends actually got into a fistfight with someone because he accidentally knocked his friend into someone. I guess that someone was having a bad day or something, ended up sucker punching my friend, getting choked and knocked out cold for 5 minutes. In case you`re wondering, the guy who started the fight got charged for assault.
Or when a massive group (8-10 people) decide to stand in a huge circle in the middle of an already crowded hallway. People just end up funneling around them, no one cuts through because well...not trying to be racist or anything, but the Lebanese students don`t have the greatest reputation at my school.

Hmmm small things that immensely piss me off? Incomplete half assed stuff done by people! Basic Manners! Album Art missing form itunes album! Dirty soapcases!
Wouldn't say you're cynical, everyone has at least one thing they can't stand. :P
In my case, hmm... spelling errors. Not just that, simple spelling errors!

1. People who text on cell phones and drive at the same time.
2. People who order at a drive through resteraunt or are ordering in a resteraunt and talking on a cellphone at the same time.
3. Road Rage
4. Being in a book store and a bunch of kids are sitting next to the great wall of manga reading manga. Like get out of the way, I want to browse and buy some manga.
5. Video game console wars.

Oh and when playing video games online theres always 10 to 13 year old kids cursing and think they're all awesome and all. I do enjoy beating the crap out of them for relief and laughter.

I believe its normal to feel angry in such situations. Intellegence has been taken for granted these days. I understand perfectly about getting annoyed at the little things and i think that fear can and does easily turn into anger after the shock, so you're in the clear in my opinion.

-If I buy a soundtrack, and the music I was hoping to find is missing. Happens a lot for me. I’ll watch a movie, and think, “Oh, that’s a nice tune they’re playing. I should get the soundtrack for it.” Then, I get it, listen to it, and lo, and behold! That music I got the whole God-damned soundtrack for is nowhere to be found. Oh, man I RAGE when that happens.
-When I get on the bus, and the person in front of me goes, and takes my favorite seat, which is the backseat facing the sidewalk.
-When uggos start conversations with me.
-People who get mad at others when they do their jobs, like when a dude curses out a cop under his breath for giving him a ticket because he was doing 80 in a school zone.
-People who don’t thank me when they sneeze, and I say, “Bless you.”
-Taxes.

Well it's absolutely normal to get mad at these little things.
In my case, I'm an order addict, and I hate when people get into my room and start changing the place of the things that I choose a specific place to be ¬¬, oh and when something get broken I feel really relly angry because it´s gonna take a time to restore the order when that happens.
And there are also this street apes (srry apes u_U) who think they are M.Shumacher or smoething like that and think they own the street and don't respect anything and anybody, even when they crush you they say it´s your fault, or like when your car turns off with no reason and they start swearing you, I mean it wasn't even my fault dam* it!
But I think the key here is to control the anger you know like *gusfraba* ah that always work for me xD, because you can have problems because of stress and stuff.
Cheers...

Errr...your case? plenty normal TvvT
I get irritated by people making "smack smack" noises when they think something's tasty (the salivary sounds make me lose my beautiful apetite>_>)
i get upset when people apply make up when they don't know how to making them look like they splattered cheap stuff on themselves(sorry if this offends anyone!m(_ _)m)
I also get upset when people assume I needed help when it was DEFINITELY not needed T_T cuz they end up making the situation worse sometimes...
Also, spoiled, overly-given-attention little kiddies should stay away before i explode.
Plenty more actually, but i guess that's what makes us all human? Different reactions and feelings make life more interesting~

People eating loudly, or scraping forks against their teeth.
People who are in your face about how you MUST WATCH OR READ SOMETHING, and won't leave you alone until you lie or watch/read the damn thing.
Ebay costumes, I don't know why but they piss me off.
