As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Do you feel guilty and remorse when you download anime and song

I'm in that line too which doesn't feel too much guilt. First of all to get anime in a small country like mine, i have to wait around 3-4 year, maybe only 1-2 for an overhyped anime. Anyway if I feel that an anime is good and the creator should be supported then I usually buy it when it becomes available.
As for music ... the main problem with the CD shops, that you can't buy one particular song, only albums ... which is a bad thing imo. And we already have to pay a high price for writeable CD/DVD because there is the possibility of writing copyrighted material on it.

I try to obtain music legally first, I think supporting the industry is good and all, but japanese CDs are expensive on top of importing fees as well. So I mostly download those.

Anime I feel a bit more guilty about, though I will watch licensed episodes of shows on their DVDs or legal streaming sites. I know some people personally who work in the industry, and though it's holding up decently with the economy the way it is, of course people are buying less and less and anime is a very easy thing to cut because its avalible on the internet, but if people keep only downloading less and less stuff is going to be brought over stateside or even to other parts of the world because the market will be non existant. And it REALLY pisses off people in this industry, they have panels at cons that will send you on a massive guilt trip about how downloading is hurting the industry. But I stream/download tons of things, especially series that are most likely not coming stateside (like Hetalia).

Not really it's not like I'm making cd copy and selling it. the music I download is only for my own personal use In my opinion those large music company should change their system cause it's not working I'm not gonna buy a whole album while I only like one song.

Remorse? what's that? kidding, xDDDDDD.

seriously, i would buy the CDs legally if they were available in my region, in which they are not. so i have to settle with the mp3s that i can obtain only through illegal downloads.

Partly, maybe, but like some others said before, I delete a big part of what I download after seeing it once or twice, and buy what is worth the price.

Did you know in a recent survey animators in Japan are making approximately $11K a year from their work, despite working incredible hours? Now that's passion!

...Yeah, I feel pretty guilty for watching pirated anime or downloading songs. When I look from the perspective of the creators I can definitely see how it's wrong, because although I slaved to make my work people are enjoying it for free while I make no money.

But, I can also see how it may be considered unfair to people who don't have access. If the creators wouldn't be able to make a direct profit from me anyways, why not?

My opinion on it is to treat it like music on the radio. You can listen to it free through them, and if you really like it buy the work if you have access. That's why I like sites like crunchyroll, where I can get my daily Gintama fix despite the high unlikeliness that the show would ever appear on television or dvd in my country, while still being able to support the creators.

Also... I don't believe money is ever an excuse not to pay if you have access. Get a job for crying out loud, geez! (XD) emoticon

I've never felt the guilt for it

partially because if you want to ever wait for NA releases, it would be far too slow and painful to wait for

I don't really feel guilt about it because it's something we wouldn't be able to get here otherwise. honestly, there aren't a lot of anime stores about, and sometimes they can't even get the soundtracks we want in. i would feel a lot more guilty about downloading local music

In my country there is really not much legal anime published and mostly things that I don't even like >_> And im my town in particular... Well we have about 300k people population but there is no store that sells music cds and there is no store that sells legal games... Won't even mention anime. People don't even know what is it ._.

And yes, I feel guilt ;( Hope I'll get good job and/or espace into other country...

P.S. If there would be chance to obtain legal Mushishi DVDs here I'd pay really a lot *_* I hope it will ever be lisenced here. dream more >_>

I never feel it even I had been watched more than 1,000 episodes on my computer. Most anime that I watched at that time weren't licensed. Some anime that I still watch are licensed in USA but aren't available on sales that could be found in United Kingdom. I usually buy anime DVDs if I found anime that I really like. I started watched some Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann episodes today and I already plan to buy some DVDs for it once I'm done with rest of episodes.

Come on, man we are poor people around the world, not everybody has the money to afford Japanese Animation Pop culture articles, especially when they are important...

Okay, no joking now, whether our desire for filesharing is justified or not is up to oneself to decide. PInternational fans do it on a regular basis anyway for the obvious reasons that Anime, Manga are perminantly basterdized or edited and save cost for the CDs

Ever since the days of Napster the majority downloads songs from the Internet be it illegally or legal...

As long as I love and adore the creator of the anime, I don't feel the guilt inside, I just fell in love with the anime so its not a crime to download such when its just your mere way of appreciating them.
