Guilty and remorse?? You best be joking. I feel the opposite when downloading anime or song. Because it's free! More people download the more popular the anime/song is. So we help it also, in a bad way but still good.

If you live in Malaysia, Its hard to get this kind of J Music(0-10%).
So i dload instead to save my time and money.
I've b33n dloading stuff like cracked stuff,music, videos and more on the net but i don't feel guilty or remorse.

If I felt any remorse then I wouldn't be downloading it.

Exactly... It is too late for any organization to stop the File sharing community world or otherwise we would need to rebuild our world into a vast prison yard because practically every Internet freak is sharing files per Peer to Peer, ever since the days of the early beginnings of Napster...

I don't feel bad when I do anything wrong. Especially not when I download music or shows.

Why? Because I find other ways to support the people, other than buying their music and shows.

As long as you find another way to help them, I think it's fine. But if you stay at home rotting and doing nothing but watching/listening to their things illegally, then yes, you should feel guilty. These people spend their lives working the way they do to bring the community their art. It's abuse to take all and give nothing back.

I feel guilty, but i have no choice. i can't hear/watch it otherwise. only broadcasting rights are given to companies here, not actual merchandise and other stuff. i would but it if its there and i have the spare money though.

In truth i believe it's legit most of the time while I don't download anime (Tend to watch on Veoh or youtube) I do download music every so often but its hard to find unless you import.

I download songs because I do not have the money to go out and buy all the songs I want. If I really like an anime and their soundtrack I will definitely buy it!

I’ve refrained from pirating a lot of music because I like having the music in physical form. I also like to support artists I like. I like seeing the albums stacked together, looking at the liner notes, the booklets, and all that shit. If people come to my house I want them looking at my music collection. If people see my library, and they find musical acts ranging from B.I.G. to Pink Floyd to Sinatra, it says you’re not restricted to one type of music, and I want people to know that about me.

However, that doesn’t count toward soundtracks, and that’s why the music I pirate tends to be soundtracks, especially anime, and game OSTs. The nerd factor comes into play here. It doesn’t look so cool when you’ve got Gundam Wing, Kingdom Hearts, or Metal Gear in your CD rack. That combined with the increased difficulty in finding some of these OSTs just add more incentive for me to download them (where the Hell am I going to find the Berserk OST?!).

I usually buy CDs if I really like the music, even if I have to import. But for the most part, I usually just download my music first to see if I like it enough to buy it... I don't really feel bad about it, since I'll pay for it if I like it, and delete it if I don't.

And of course, I don't actually buy everything I like, only the really good ones.

As for anime... DVDs are really expensive, and half the time, they either don't have an uncut version included on the DVD, or they're just not releasing series that I'm interested in watching. I have VERY few anime series that I actually own, and I usually don't feel bad about downloading it because I delete it after I watch it once.

Most of my downloaded anime(probably 70-75% of it) are fansubs that were at the time unavailable for sale in my language. For those there is NO guilt whatsoever. If you are not willing to sell to me(at least at the time) I don't feel need to pay you as long as I am not directly taking money from you(I.e, I will download copy bytes, but I wouldn't break into the studio/server to steal a hard copy, one costs the company money the other is neither costing nor making them money).

As for the anime I have nabbed that are available. I usually feel a slight twinge. Anime is way to expensive for me to buy at the time(as is manga), however, my library system is really good so I can get a fair chunk through the library. Sadly though I sometimes forget to check to see if it is in English before reading/watching, thus sometimes I watch something when I should have waited for it to come in through the library. This is particularly so since I enjoy watching anime on my TV(this way I can use my computer for other things while watching anime).

As for music. I should feel bad, but the music CD's that I have looked at are way expensive for what is on them(paying nearly 20 bucks for 1 song that I like is just silly). Though I suppose I should check if one of those music service things accepts money-orders and carries the J-Pop songs I like.

Not at all really. I see it as a 'try before you buy' sort of thing with music, if the album is good, then it should be bought. I think it's better than some people though, who just download their songs without supporting those who they think are good. It's still illegal though...

Same thing goes for anime. If it is really truly good, then I would buy it... I'm not really sure bought the legalities of that though...
