but overall, good series so far and plus the animation is absolutely awesome

plot summary from ANNlot Summary: On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be called as "Careless Monday," does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later... Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. and he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he's holding with the other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash.
I watched the first episode and I absolutely loved it.
First off I salute Production IG for not only giving a rather accurate representation of New York, but actually getting English speaking VAs. Throughout my years, I've seen some pretty bad examples of English in animes, some being decent and others being down right laughable. After watching the first episode, I could only ID roughly one voice actor that gave a bit of Engrish in his line. Everything else was solid and to me that shows that they really gave it a good try.
The anime really has a whole spy type feel to it. Though, while it can be taken as both good and bad, the main male character really reminds me a lot of what Jason Bourne would be like if he was an anime character. All the way from not remembering to who he is and his secret life style.
The artwork, while taking a little while to get use to, doesn't bother me nearly as badly as Honey X Clover, I couldn't even watch that show. Everything is very fluent and I've found the show to be an enjoyable watch with beautiful scenery.
I highly recommend this anime so far. Though, basing it off of one episode isn't saying much, but if the show continues as strongly as it has, then I can guarantee I'll buy it when it's licensed in the States. I'm rather confident it will be.

Top notch animation. I find the storyline pretty appealing as well. Enough mysteries to keep me interested but not so much that I have no idea whats going on. One comment though, not really good or bad, but the animation keeps reminding me of Honey and Clover ahah
I've read the the first episodes' summary in this site
click me HARD!
it's quite interesting but not to my liking

Personally, I think that Eden of the East is just awesome; the animation for the OP and ED and the OP and ED themselves are simply amazing, the characters are intriguing, and the premise of the show has managed to suck me right in.
So yeah. I'm hooked. xD

The whole mystery is about to be revealed. I was kinda confused watching the first eps. Saki-chan is absolutely cute. I thought she was in junior high or senior at least. But she's already 21 and soon be graduated from college? Geez, Umino surely loves drawing moe chara ^___^;;
I think I'll keep watching this series. I don't pick up many series this season but EotE is definitely a must watch.

Though I've only watched the first episode, I've fallen deeply in love with this anime. And even though at first I kinda get annoyed with Akira's character, dragging Saki around = =;; but then, after around 10 minutes I started to like his character a lot. And I'm pretty sure if there is a guy like him in real world, I'd definitely develop a crush to him =///= he's just unpredictable (well, just scratch off the Jhonny part)
I just saw the OP and ZOMG
wonderfull inforgraphics! (for those inside the design graphic industry and who loves inforgraphics, know how I am feeling right now). And most importantly, I didn't expected OASIS for the opening... :3 I just hope the series ends well...Blood+'s last episode was pretty much QUALITY (probably because they spent all their budget paying Hans Zimmer for the music. They should had sticked with Yoko Kanno as they did for GITS)

Sounds pretty neat... is there anything like this out there right now to compare it to? Just to get an idea of what its like I mean
:)
:)
This anime is amazing. It's not a typical anime, which is refreshing. I really like the animation, the story so far is pretty interesting, the characters are becoming slowly developed, and the opening song by Oasis rocks!! I hope it's not a short series, I'm really looking forward to more episodes to come :)

To be perfectly honest I didn’t really know what to expect before I saw the first episode, on one hand it had a great premise etc but still it’s done by Production IG, and their latest works didn’t really amaze me that much (quite the opposite). What can I say after actually watching it? It BLEW MY MIND. A great OP by Oasis (huge fan here), a more cheerful ED (it’s like they complement one another). Add to that the whole 007/spies/Bourne vibe and we get either the biggest disappointment in anime history or a top5 on my anime list if done right. Don’t let me down this time Production IG!
Anyway I didn’t really got around to gathering information about this series, so could anyone tell me is it based on a book/novel (I know there’s a book that goes by the same title, but iirc it has nothing to do with the anime), a game or anything else, or is it an original Production IG idea?

Okay, I gotta say, I love this anime. I think it is the best of the new Spring anime. The animation is smooth compared to most of the animes by IG, like GITS, which has a lot of sharp graphics and detailed backgrounds.
EOTE seemed like a typical romance to me, but I guess I was wrong. The whole Careless Monday terrorist attack thing and the Selecao system? Wow.
I love the soundtrack too, but most of all, real Americans voices instead of Engrish. : D
I laughed so much when Akira hipped out his Johnny.

This is such a cool anime. I got addicted to it right away. Can't wait for more Akira and Saki scenes. I hope Akira wins the game.

The anime was EVERYTHING I wanted it to be.
The animation was superb. Maybe not the best of this season, but still gorgeous. Umino's character designs are adorable and fit well. The background animation was well done and detailed. The animators did a great job recreating Washington D.C. I lol'd when I saw a CVS Pharmacy and someone wearing a Washington Nationals hat.
Our main character, Saki, arrives in Washington D.C. and decides to check out the White House. She tries to throw coins into the big fountain(?) located in the vicinity. She is caught by the police, and starts to get interrogated. She becomes nervous when they come up to her. After a while, our other main character, Akira Takizawa, shows up. Let's just say he attracted a lot of attention. He is completely naked and has a gun in one of his hands. He ends up tricking the cops, and comes to the aid of Saki though Saki is the one that really helps him in the end :smileyvery-happy: She gives him her coat and a few other items. He leaves in order to avoid the cops. Saki remembers her passport is in her coat, so she decides to chase after Akira. Akira is being chased by the police, and Saki is trying to find Akira. This becomes one wild goose chase that will for sure make you laugh.
Akira has this mysterious phone with him. He is told to go to a specific destination. When he reaches that area, we soon discover that this guy may not be such a great guy... or maybe he is being black mailed(??)(I did watch it raw, so bare with me.) He finds guns, fake passports, and other items. He might be a terrorist... I'm not really sure.
Saki eventually catches up to him and asks if he can give her her coat/passport back. A police woman finds Saki and starts to question her(they are both technically on the run). Akira notices she is confused, and bails her out. Which ended up with him flashing the cop :smileyvery-happy:
They go on a 'date' and start to get to know each other. He jokingly tells her he is a terrorist. (Maybe he wasn't joking) Saki talks about herself and why she is in D.C. There's a cliffhanger at the end of the episode. I wont say what it is, but it's big.
So who exactly is Akira? What is that phone? Who was he talking to? What is happening in Japan?
Great episode! Loved every second of it and can't wait til it's subbed.
10 out of 10 so far.

So has anyone watched the most current episode? I just saw episode 9. Things are really heating up. This series is most certainly a must watch.
I hope It gets licensed quickly because I would love a quality DVD release. Is there really only 2 more episodes left? Awww man. I wonder how long the movie will be and I really want to know when it will be released.
This series has been consistently good. Not once a bad episode. Man the writing is sooo good!! I think I am going to go around convincing my friends to watch it.
