Is it possible to fall in love with an anime character?

It's always possible to love, even a fictional character
Well at one time I became so obsessed with Edward Elric that, I ended up doing a series of large / medium sized drawings on him. For a period of 2 - 3 years that's almost all I did. Though I did not fall in love with him, more like I sympathized with him 'cause were are both teased about our height. I'm not that short but it bother's my that my younger brother is taller than me. I'm 5'3" by the way My stilettos are my best friends. But I get away with being 13 when I'm 21... lots of fun and yet I still get into are rated movies. Fun.
Back to the topic.
It depends many of us here are artists or enthusiasts and we experience emotional connections to characters, people, subjects that most people find most unusual. And, as such it allows us to make more complex artistic decisions in our art and everyday life.
And though our likes, and obsessions can change like the wind we still can care deeply about inanimate things, including anime, to the point of love and that is ok just as long as the individual can realize that, that love will only ever be one sided and can never be returned...
Back to the topic.

Well, I haven't totally fallen in "love" with an anime character, but I have been obsessed with it for awhile. (like L, Edward Elric, Lelouch, Kaname, etc, etc...)
Once I was obsessed with V.V for awhile (actually still am ^^;) but it wasn't love or anything.
I guess it could happen, but I'm no psychologist; it could happen to sane/insane people. Who knows?

but as far as fall in love I've had my share of fantasies but who hasn't I have found some characters to be hot. well I do have a fav character come to think of but not because she is like 'hot' but she pulled me into her character none the less, that would be Reki from Haibane Renmei

I know plenty of people who have a "crush" on a fictional character, but not too many that are deeply, madly in love with them. As in, thinking about them day and night, feeling sad when said character goes for another anime character (:P), and seriously obsessing over them.
What can I say...most anime characters have perfect hair, perfect skin, beautiful sparkly eyes and are able to do certain impossible things. They're the best...except that they don't really exist.

Lol haha I wouldn't call it love it's more like an obsession or admiration or a crush lol. I have a crush on lots and lots of hot bishies so I know this. haha But I haven't really fallen in love with an anime character. I don't think it's possible because love means you're ready to sacrifice anything for that person (if it is a person) but maybe it can also be love like how you love some stuff that you own which has a sentimental value? But maybe it's possible and I just haven't seen it yet. XD

Because they are ideal, they usually have most if not all of the qualities everyone wants in someone else. And they are so accessible - you can see them anytime you want.

I think it's possible to fall in love with the "idea" of a real life anime character. Or if humans ever got around to making real life chobits. I'm one of those people that will take a real life chobit over a human female any day. Unfortunately they don't exsist, so I have to live with the drama for the rest of my life. Now I get to go get yelled at by said drama for posting this.

I had and still have a huge crush on Arcueid Brunestud from the Shingetsusan Tsukihime series. I thought she is extremely pretty and I really like her personality ^^.

I've falling in love with anime char for 3 times... but when that char was dead, I crying all night long... sounds weird, but... that's love for sure...
I think it's kind of hard to answer though.. o_o since of course, first we must know what love is..and that's kind of hard 'cause everyone has a different definition for love. XD
