Do you agree or against pirating
I'm a pirate and proud of it... would i PAY for pirated software movies music etc? ...not a chance...you can find anything for free if you look hard enough...so why would i pay someone else to do it? that's just scamming and they're profiting off someone else...but hey...if someone wants to share a dvdrip of a movie they bought...i'm happy to accept it...same with software...and lets face it...software is retardedly expensive...they want EVERYONE to have computers but only the wealthy can afford the programs and/or games to put on them...that's just crooked
I agree. All that is free is good for us xD
I dont have any problem with pirating really. If its something that I want to support, then I'll pay money for it. But most of the time I just download it

If the price isn't affordable for you, better use the torrent for the meantime as if it was a demo (if a full demo isn't available). If you really love it, support it by buying it.
If it's overprice (literally), I wouldn't take a chance.
There are lots of instances and situations so it would depend on when and how I will use piracy for it.
Most of the times, it's a no-no for me.

CloudGerI also hate the Pirate party that actually reached 2% in my government's election this year (which is quite alarming imo).
Well at first I believe You don't fully understand Pirate parties main objective (parties, because such a movement is growing now in whole Europe). They do not want changes in law, which would allow all of us to download everything for free. They want preserve our - citizens - rights, and reform that old licences system, which in practice block development of great ideas - both because of money which small industries lacks and because of patents owners who simply do not want to share ;/
And just for the record I understand motives of both sides - I'm programmer - I now how frustrating is seeing your application on www where it is freely "distributed" by piracy communities... but in other hand I also know benefits of it :) If you are small company nothing can promote you better than good application on pirates forums :) It is relatively cheap and easy way of promoting ;p Because if someone want to buy your software, he will buy it anyway... if not... he will find the way to avoid any costs... but well sometimes free-bug-support and other licensed application abilities are just worth to spend some money :)

Although this is convenient that download something from the Web ,but it is unfair for enterprises.
The violation harms the wisdom property rights.

I kinda agree..well not many people can buy everything they really like and some countries doesnt even have some stuff!!And normally when i read or see something in the internet that i really like i always try to buy it when possible like a lot of people..Also with piracy also comes a lot of advertising of some series that arent available at your country or something like that
I am fiercely and definitely against piracy. If you cannot buy for the price it is at that moment, wait, work harder, be wise and invest your money, but never ever do piracy or you will be financing terrorists and drug dealers and the victim might be you.

arthurgomesyou will be financing terrorists and drug dealers and the victim might be you.
Huh? It is rather hard to support terrorists and drug dealers by simply downloading software from www. But well if you mean those "sea" pirates than you are probably right... that kind of piracy is bad and should be terminated with all necessary means :P

To those who think downloading songs or such is piracy...what are you "taking" -- are you taking the person's voice?
You are taking a 'hearing' of their voice. Is listening to someone theft?
Before we had the ability to record songs, artists got paid when they performed. Now due to electronics created by electronics engineers, and more recently computer scientists, artists can have world wide distribution of *replicas* of their voice and get paid for doing what? They aren't singing -- they are living off the duplications created by the the scientists & engineers.
How is it that the artists are considered to have their work stolen when someone listens to a duplication of their voice, when they are using technology that they didn't create to duplicate and distribute it?
Maybe it's scientists and engineers that have had their work pirated? How many Madonna or Elton John - level stars do you known in the engineering field? Or the sciences?
If it wasn't for technology, the only profits an artist would get would be when they perform. Trouble is technology is considered, at best, patentable for ~20 years, while copyrights last for 75 years after the authors death. Um...how ridiculous is that? Those who created the devices that make those artists famous get no recognition and little protection or compensation, while those who use those tools (that are now widely available) are placed on a platform and we are told that listening to copies of their voice is "piracy"...?!?
Am I the only one who sees some bogus contradictions here?
Intellectual property, is, in large amount, a fabrication, created as a means for capitalists to extract more money out of the masses for "nothing". You don't own the song -- increasingly, just trying to watch, listen or use the 'IP', on anther machine or in another place is forbidden. Creating virtual property out of nothing is the only way capitalism will survive into the next century, because they don't have vast areas of land that can be cheaply acquired and exploited for resources.
Thus capitalists must exploit the minds and brains of people by carving 'intellectual property' out of our mindspace -- allowing them to continue exploitation into the future -- if we allow it. Copyright and patent were created to stimulate creative works -- but today it's being used to stifle creativity as often as not.
"Piracy"[sic] is a natural outcome of people rebelling against an unfair system.
Listening is a human activity.

Don't much care for it. There are certain things I'm willing to support, others not so much.
