It really depends on the girl's face.

There's another approach to it though, a scientific one. At least in Germany scientists tried to figure out if it is possible to completely predict who matches who the best - and why.
In our past, human tended to chose their coupling partners by looking at their body or listen to their voice or even smelling someone. So when women started to walk straight, it wasn't enough to just attract men (coupling partners) with their hips and well - her sexual organs. Thus their breasts grew bigger (that's why many male people prefer big breasts over smaller ones, because smaller ones seem to resemble a child rather than a mature woman (which is wrong, but that's how it is)).

I somehow guess that this very situtation is also applicable for long vs short hair. It adds to it that girls, who have a short hair cut, really seem to tend to be rather masculine than fill the traditional caring mother figure.

I personally don't have a preference in this matter. If a girls face - you might think I'm lying, but I assure you I don't - looks beautiful and meets my taste, then I go for her character and then for her body. Actually I would lie if I said that character comes first... you have to like the person you talk to - and this is achieved best if the person you talk to looks cute (that's my opinion though).
There are beautiful girls with short haircut - and some with long one too.

As to anime characters: Ai Amano (Video Girl Ai) is one of my most favorite girls - and she has a short hair cut. I also do like e.g. Black Lagoon - where the girls rather have long hair (same applies for many other anime too).

But in the end I think it's all a matter of taste... it's just that there MIGHT be more men liking girls or women (real life or not - doesn't matter) with long hair than those liking girls or women with short hair. I think however that these men often don't chose on purpose, but rather their instincts choose for them.

I can't speak for every man, but I can for myself. I don't care so much about a girl's hair length as I do about how it fits her. Some girls look beautiful with short hair, and some look better with long hair to me. It really depends on the girl.

Short hair or long hair doesn't matter to me. As long as the girl has a good character and good nurtured it is good enough.

I know girls that look better with short hair but I like long hair more...it´s more girly-like.

I adore girls who can pull off really short hair! I think some girls just look a lot more fresh with short hair, especially those with strong facial features.

I don't think all guys prefer girls with long hair, but from what I've seen and heard throughout the years, it seems to me that most guys do. That probably has a lot to do with what the media portrays as feminine.

I personally prefer girls with long hair, but short haired girls are also my type. Maybe it's just a matter of personal opinion.

I think it depends on the girl. If it's really short almost like a guy's, some girls can pull that look off and look very attractive. It depends if it looks good on the girl and the guy's personal preference. I used to have very long hair, it was past my shoulders by quite a good bit! But I cut it and it just touches my shoulders now, all my guy friends think I look better so it all depends on the guy's personal opinion =]

I think its a traditional thing. In the past, women have always had long hair, and so short hair is associated with men. So I guess its a stigma thing, based on society's traditional view on women. That said, there are now a lot of guys who prefer short hair, so I guess it could all be a matter of personal opinion. I know short hair is a lot more flattering on some people, and long people on others. So I guess, like everything else, it boils down to how attractive the girl is, as to whether guys 'prefer' it.

I heard alot of guys like long hair on a girl.
But the reason why i have long hair now is bcuz sometimes i get tired of short hair and then when i get tired of short hair then I go back to long,so for me its an hot and cold relashionship with me and hair.XD But Come to think of it Long hair is alot of work for me so thats why I usually do short.So if you can pull of both looks without complaints...Go for it X))!

Everyone has different opinions. The guys who like long-haired girls probably have the idea of long hair is elegant. Dunno, I've seen some long-haired girls being really tomboyish :p My brother once fell for a short-haired girl and she IS really feminime. Sad, she was a bit... materialistic so my bro dumped her before the confession xD

Girls look nice regardless of hair length. We guys on the other hand... Men should not sport certain hair styles (use your imagination)

I think its true that most guys prefer long hair on girls. case in point - my brother. he's a little (or a lot) rude but he won't even consider a girl with short hair.

nonetheless I have short hair and i love it. I've also been told by many that short hair suits me a lot better than long hair and i agree. then again, it makes be a lil spunky so i guess guys might be put off by that but there are alot of girls who have short hair look really pretty and girly. But i haveto admit long hair gives off this feminine luxurious feel.

Standing up for the Medium Hair.

Well I think as long as you are happy with yourself and your hair it really doesn't matter as long as rocking it. Because i had very long hair until my mother permed it but it stayed long for some years then it fell out . But now I have medium hair and love it because it not too short or long. But if your hair is happy then you should be too. I know most guy want long hair to play and to pull in it. And i know some guys that likes short hair then long hair.
