Trick or Treat by °chanelqueen17 1 month 2 weeks ago

^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I used to watch Anime with my older brother. But now that he has left home, there is no one else to watch stuff with at home. Of course I do watch anime with my boyfriend seeing as its one of the common interests we have.

Otherwise, I've never watched anime in a group. Unless when I'm at an expo and they are showing an episode or what have you.

I know how you feel because I'm like this too. I rarely talk about anime to my friends or other people. I"m like anime club? ewww.

When people are around me when I'm watching anime I feel as if it's being ruined and I can't enjoy it to it's fullest. If there's a depressing for example scene and I'm just tearing up, with my friends around it's going to be so awkward.

Never tried public places like dealerships and probably never will. People walking by and staring is too distracting and I wouldn't be able to focus on the show. I do watch with my cousins sometimes though but thats only at either their house or my house.

I have watched in public before. For example, I once had to run my sister to a 4-H Officer's meeting(or somesuch) at one of the larger local schools. She was going to be close to hours if worst came to worst she said. Thus, I packed up my laptop and a copy of the Howl's Moving Castle DVD(which at the point I hadn't gotten around to seeing yet). It was raining like mad outside and the car was cramped, so I sat inside the doors with my laptop plugged in watching anime. I got a couple of weird looks, but I think that came more from me sitting on the floor with my computer rather than being in the cafeteria with all the 4-H'ers and the ilk. I think that because it was more of a 'what is he doing there' look than a 'that freak still watches cartoons' type of look.

Not a real problem. I also have watched anime while working the booths at the county fair, etc. But in those cases my screen is facing away from the public(since I have too keep on eye on the booth and on the screen) so no one really sees it except my co-workers and they have already learned to deal with my eccentric personality(of which anime is only a tiny part of).

It depends where for me.

If I'm watching anime on a computer, I generally prefer watching myself - I like personal space. However, I don't mind watching with other people as much on a computer if I have seen the anime before.

If I'm watching a projected version of anime or on telelvision, then I don't mind watching with other people. Although, I do feel slightly uncomfortable when people don't react to the same things I do.

I think its more fun to watch anime together with someone else (i.e. brother, sister, girlfriend) because you can talk and discuss about the series. My brother is already getting on my nerves because he wants to talk about FMA 2009 and i havn't had the time yet to watch it. *g*

Well I don't watch anime in public, except last year when we had our annual college fair and a friend of mine brought her dvd player and we watched. It was fun because I was watching with my friends who are also fond of anime. But personally, I liked watching it with my siblings. But if alone or w/ others, I prefer to watch alone. (cause I can cry freely specially in endings) But just like the inspirational quote I got from facebook today; "Dare to be Different." being different won't hurt you as long as you don't hurt others. It's none of those bystanders and passersby' business if you like watching anime or not. yeah, I also know 24 it's a good show. :D just remember, what others say and do doesn't matter, cause in the end, the decision is your to make. live life! just like what's written in your sig LIFE IS TOO UNCERTAIN TO HAVE REGRETS so watch anime and don't have regrets.

I'm not sure about how to express my sentiments on this one. I like to watch with other people, but it only seems that I can be comfortable with others around when they know that I'm watching anime, or they have known me for long enough to expect me to be watching anime.

Like Crazy3jackal08 said I tend to notice people looking over my shoulder when the other person or people haven't been put on notice. There I'll sit privately enjoying myself, and another person enters and gives me a look that indicate that they think I'm being immature or henti; depending on the particular anime that I'm watching. It's never a neutral expression when the person discovers me watching anime for the first time. I've just started to associate the puzzled behavior with American cultural attitudes that I must subconsciously be ignoring, but if you think that having someone look over your shoulder and spot you viewing anime is strange, try reading manga in public. You get a you're a comic book reader look, and they examine you as if trying to determine if you are mentally handicapped.

I've sort of approached this subject before and the sense that I got of it is that American attitudes toward things like comics and cartoons are related to the hardships of the generation that lived through the, "Great Depression." Apparently it was necessary for young adults and children forgo such entertainment as a way of accepting and coping with the economic hardship (note that they did not forgo spending money on going to the movies). American society incorporated this ridiculous form of self denial as a noble attribute and has passed it onward. In American society anime and manga are generally accepted as other forms of comics and cartoons and hence draw the strange reaction.

My mother was a comic book fan and she thought that the way most Americans tend to view comics, cartoons, manga, and anime was bull; and I agree.

If you are self conscious about watching anime you have no reason to be watching it outside. However, if you are like me you can always pause and look back, 'what you starin' at bub? You wanna have a go?" Pull down your zippers and show them what it means.

I don't really care what people in public think of me, as I'm probably not going to see them again. I do receive many strange looks when watching or reading anything from any different country, though.

For me it depends on the kind of series it is. I love watching comedies with others. Sometimes they pick up on jokes that I normally would not, and it is always more fun to laugh with someone else. Action anime I prefer to watch alone for some reason. I don't know why though. Then again I prefer to watch action movies by myself as well so it may just be action oriented things in general.

Regardless of what kind of anime I'm watching though I usually don't mind others walking up and watching as well. It doesn't bother me to the point where I can't enjoy what I'm watching.
