As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

You know when you want to do two things at the same time but accedentally mixing them up? I just wanted to drink my cellphone and put my cup of tea to my ear -_-"

My session zero:
http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/wallpapers/sessions/item72755/

brainspill from it:
The early early beginnings of my ARIA wall (been wanting to do one for a while :) )...

What I have so far is an extraction of one scan (aria house) and a cleanup of another (rest of the picture). There was an unbelievable amount of cleanup to do too. After repairing the page rip right down the middle, wrinkles in the page, and dirt and marks from when it was scanned I started smoothing out the color blends and blemishes. Some of the ink lining was a bit rough and color changes weren't exactly smooth.

so after 3 hours of image cleanup and an hour of extraction, here we are. At this point I need advice on where to go next. Brushes? stamps? textures? effects? more text?

some things to note:
-still doing some line cleanup, especially on alecia's face and arms
-enlarged the text after I made it, so edges are a little pixelated. Will fix for final version.

The wallpaper looks pretty good.
May I see the real scans?

These are my suggestions:
1. Put your signature.
2. I'm not too fond of the text you put. maybe use one without outlines and then make it less visible (lower the opacity) the key
3. Take a look at the bottom of the house. There shouldn't be any ripple because there isn't any in the rest of the ocean. I've seen the scan of the house, the ripple reflection on the house need to be removed, then paint the ocean in the same style as the rest.
4. Did you add a glow or something on the top of the character? if yes, maybe you want to remove it. if not...forget what I've said ;p
5. Take a look at her skirt, (out of line color)

I think that's all for now. I hope my suggestions can be helpful for you.

It's a very pretty image, but it seems to be just a tiny bit dim. Raising the contrast might help to make the colors more vibrant. The text seems a little awkward to me, too... it stands out quite a bit against the calm, cool pastels of the image. The background's lines are smooth, but the text's edges are sharp, so it seems like it's not really a part of the image. Softening the text might help, I think. Otherwise, it's very beautiful. *_*
