After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I'm totally lost. I'm not that experienced in Photoshop and I don't even have the best version (5.0). I've been trying to make a wallpaper but I've been having some problems. My ideas can only go as far as my abilities using photoshop.

Here is what I have so far: Loveless Wallpaper

I'm not sure about the stripes though. I've run out of ideas for the rest of it. I also don't know many brush sites either. The circle brush I have used on this wallpaper is from animerain.com. The only thing that I really need to know is how to make bubble font or make the font look cooler in any way. Any tips to improve the wallpaper or to help me get some skills in photoshop would be very appreciative.

Well, the size of the wall doesn't match our acceptable resolutions (800x600) but I think thats because you uploaded it to PhotoBucket. The first thing I like to suggest is to use imageshack for the upload so that we can see the right size. It's much easier to judge about this wall if we can see it in full size (Quality).

The second thing is that your wall is now in .png but we only accept .jpg files.
You need to save it under that format.

About the wall:

So far I can tell from looking at it in this small size I can't say anything about the quality or the extraction of the scan.

The background is to empty and looks plain. The left site needs some things to spice it up. Some sort of brushes would be good but don't overdo it. The circles behind the pic are looking a bit blurry. I think you should make them crisper and sharper.

About your questions about brush sites:

You can take a look at the forum sticky. There are some sites listed for tutorials and brushes. I don't really know if it will help you cause your current version of PhotoShop is a bit old. Don't know if newer made brushes like you found them on Deviantart.com will work.

For better fonts take a look at dafont.com

Last but not least: The required signature is missing!

Photobucket also enables any resolution, but you need to set the 1MB option there.
As long it isn't above a 1MB size, the wallpaper will be shown in full.

As Voicy said is hard to say anything, due the low resolution.
In my opinion the background is too simple and it don't looks to good. You also adding the character too much to the right side. Probably made it so cause the icons are usually on the left side. Wrong. You need to make a wallpaper which is pretty and not a practical one. So try to centerize more. (I myself have the icons on both sides - games/progams)

Also suggest to get a newer Photoshop version, at least a 7, even better a CS2 or a CS3. The older ones haven't support of antialising.

I am not sure about how you do things in Photoshop 5.0; I am also clueless about that version. however, I will try to do my best to help.

first thing first, you may want to look what others have done in making abstract wallpaper.
try to see this and this as both of them like to make abstract wallpaper. hope you get some kind of inspiration looking at their wallpapers.

as per the background, I think it is better if you make it all solid color. as I do not like the stripes =p take a note, when people make a simple abstract wallpaper, they tend to vector the character. more simple it is, more high quality of the character we will need. though some do not use vectored characters. I believe using textures might help a bit. anyway, if you feel like filling up the left part of the wallpaper, try extending the brushes on the back to the left. you can make more with that round circle brushes. or maybe with another ones. deviantart is a good place for that.

for extraction, I believe you only need to clean the one on the chain near the hair. I know it is hard, so I am suggesting to just cut the chain and remove it completely =d
well, well, I actually want to recommend you to vector the image. but since you are using photoshop 5.0, I am not sure how.

anyway, good luck on the wallpaper. ask me if you feel like it. :D

PS: I believe the size is too much for a 800x600 resolution. try using the "save for web".

Nice wallpaper, but i don't think the stripes are necessary. i think a design is better in my opinion.
