What do you prefer? Anime in English or Japanese w/ Subtitles

It depends on the dub. Some English-dubbed animes (IMO) turn out great - I especially liked how they did Fullmetal Alchemist and God(?) Save Our King. But more often than not, I prefer the ones subbed animes. Often the Japanese voices sound better - and with those subtitles popping up at the bottom of the screen, you don't miss out on the conversations! XD
For me. I'd like English Subtitles more than Japanese Subtitles.

For Me It Depends on what i watched first because i tend to like the first one I watched and when the 2nd one airs I get a little unhappy because the voices and the script is changed from the one I used to watch ^_^

I'd rather watch the english dub over jap dub with english subbed. For me, I tend to immerse myself more in the english dubs because I don't have to read what's going on. Although I don't really mind either.
Of course, there's some english dubs that are just plain awful and unbearable to watch. Like 4Kids rendition of One Piece. = \

I would prefer it in English. I don't really agree with the whole "original voices/language". Sadly though, most dubs suck so I normally end up watching subs. Some things don't translate so well into English anyway (like the whole desu thing from Rozen Maiden for instance) and dubs are notoriously prone to censorship, so perhaps there being so few quality dubs is actually a blessing in disguise
English sucks..the same as spanish(since its where i live) (dubs)
oh well even if they are licenced the dvds have mistakes and are a crap thing to watch (evangelion dvd3 have a mistake and the 2 episode jumps to the 3 so the order of the dvd is 1-3-2...in place than 1,2,3) XDD
so..ofc i preffer japan with substitles,
oh well to me it doesn't depend on what you watch first...the other day i see chobits on tv on spanish and i was laughting about how stupid the voices sounds (never watched it on japan)
oh well i'm used to watch raws so it doesn't care much,(so i only watch things with subs to see some phrase maybe i didn't undestand) watch too much anime happens that (its not that hard to undestand after 3-4 years of constant japan 3 hours each day XD)
the only full series i've ever watched on spanish was kenshin/dragon ball/saint saiya...and was cuz i was 5 years old i think...so i was too idiot back then to have internet or any info about how to get original versions XD

I like subbs better, some of the dubs voices literaly sound aweful, and the use to cut out scenes to make it more suitable for children...in my opinion the worst dub ever was sailor moon(i can't watch an episode without having hearing problems after...i can't watch more than an episode a day...)i'm sure anime is better without subtitles distracting you from the whole action,but...i'm ready to make this sacrifice...
I want japp sound with subtitle... the sound is much beter and there is moe spirit given into the anime.. Ive watched two eps from MFa with english. i though i would laugh to death sein the bad dub's.
I like the english subtitles, because they are often quiet good. But I just hate the Swedish subtitles on animes since they can´t spell anything right and they translate things wrong and in a strange way using worlds that never would have been used in Japan since they are words that only we swedish people use and that sucks.
Definitely subs over dubs for me. I've heard some really really horrible dubbings before. Even if it was the best show ever, i could never watch it. Man, they were terrible, made my ears bleed.
But some dubs aren't too bad, i've seen Prince of Tennis in Cantonese and it was pretty good. Another that needs to be mentioned is the English dub for Cowboy Bebop. It was great, almost as good as it is in Japanese.

I would say sub over dub too ..
some animes work fine with dub like Scrapped Prinsess but most of the time they are bad .. you cant feel the action or the sadness in most english dubbed animes .
after i got Gundam Seed DVDs i started watching in english but after 2 episodes i could'nt take it anymore and i re-watched the anime in Japanese lol .. so most of the time dub dosnt work for me .

Even people who don't know how to read prefer subtitles. even blind people.

I thank God there are subbed versions, I would be miserable if there only were dubbed ones. I like to hear the original voices, to pick up some Japanese wordsa and expressions and also the translators notes that you find in most of the best subtitlers. Here's a shout out to all you brave subtitlers, God bless you all!
