When we go to restaurants and places like such where there are people who serve you, do you feel like giving them tips? What does tipping mean to you?
When you are the patron...
#1 Would you tip the waiter generously if he or she had served you well, or you would just assume that the tip has somehow been included in the service tax?
#2 Would you just give the change (from the counter where you have paid) as a tip or you would consider it rude?

I like to tip people who serve me. I think its a bit rude not to actually, even if they did a poor job I'd give them a tip, just a smaller one. The tip goes into their pay, and their job is mostly consisting of tips. So just think of it that way. I've never had a rude waiter so I can't say much on that. I did have one that took forever but I was still kind enough to give them a tip. If I was waiting someone I would really appreciate any kind of tip the person I'm serving is giving me.
I think you should give the waiter/waitress some tip, I usually give about $8 extra and leave it on the table when I leave, that is, unless they're service was bad somehow, which usually doesn't happen. I know the tip doesn't come from what I pay for the food or the tax, and I don't know why paying the tip at the counter is rude but I don't do that anyways because it seems a bit weird...
As for the perspective from the waiter, I have no idea since I've never been one and don't plan on being one any time soon, but if it's like a few dollars then that's satisfying enough, though I don't know how much waiters/waitresses get paid...
PS: I would suspect girls in a cosplay cafe would get a lot more tip, yes?

I dont do it because it is they job sure if they make a mistake i help but if the waiter/waitres rude to then i dont give some money extra

1) Well I usually always tip a waiter who does a decent job, nothing special, but like if I had no real complaints, but they usually only get 10% from me (of the total bill with taxes included). But if I found that the waiter was exceptionally good, like really prompt with bringing extra bread or napkins, or if I try to order a cheaper meal, they totally don't make any snide remarks or faces, I tend to tip 20-25% in those cases.
2) I prefer to leave tips at the table at which the waiter served me at, I find paying tip at the cash awkward since I don't feel like they know its from me, and as such in those cases, I don't tip.

Honestly, I hate tipping. If people just bring me like my food, I'll tip like a $1 - $3. If it's like a high class restaurant, I would tip 15% - 20%. If the service is just bad, I don't even tip them.

When I go to a store being food, and it's about 10 euros and I've 13 euro they can keep the 3 euro, it's just money.

I always tip, but if they do poorly they get less than normal. I normally always tip around 20%, but if they are doing a really crappy job I will drop it down to 10% or 15%. Depends on how bad they did. xD

It's just more of my personality. I've been considered to be too nice. However, I've never encountered a very bad waiter or waitress that I'd actually not tip them (knock on wood).

Depends on the country. Some see it as an insult, some don't. Here you give tips, and even if it's small, it's the thought that counts. Of course, expensive restaurants expect 20% tipping from their customers.

I give 20% most of the time unless the service sucked. I'm surprised several of you guys mentioned never having a rude waiter. I've encountered a few occasions of crappy service and then I'd drop the percentage.. although I've never not left tip.
My boyfriend finds me vicious but *shrug* a tip is a tip. We're already paying for the service, if they suck, why should we make them feel good with a good tip when they made us feel unhappy. I think it's a give and take situation.

Yes..i'll give to it if the services really good...coz they deserved it..on the other hand, if they give me a bad service, 2choice..die also don't wan to give them tips or i'll complain to their department..
We awaystry to givr tip, because the salary is not so good here, besides if someone is attending you good or great why not to give aa extra? they deserve that extra, my dad worked as a waiter when he was young.
