Ok well i saw FLCL #2 and really like it and was going to buy the first but then realized that there are only 2 volumes!! is that really all to the series? there are only 2 books? i thought there was a big anime out on FLCL? can someone pleese explain this to me...

...yea the anime is only 6 episodes long... I don't know what a "big anime" is to you, but it really isn't that long ^_^' heh. Its still a great anime, but short.

I totally agree. I own both mangas, and they are quite the enjoyable read. Even reading it over again is as much fun. Since its a manga the art is heavily looked upon, and I say it has a unique "flavour" to it which is different from all other mangas you might find on the shelf. Its not a terribly hard read in terms of quantity, but it is a healthy does of reading, something we all need now and then ^_^.
Although I have only read the first volume, I find it enjoyable. At first the sketchy art style was a little confusing, but it somehow adds to the experience. Good stuff~

FLCL is an awesome and unique anime and manga. Though, the manga is more confusing than the anime. The anime goes into more of the story and the cause and effects and the plot of everything. The manga kind of skips over a lot and it makes more sense if perhaps you watch the anime (several times) first. There are only two volumes to the manga series, but the ending is pretty cute, and I particularly like the last few pages. Heheh. It's a short but fascinating series since there aren't many manga or anime like it at all.

yeah its one of the few short mangas out there
Personaly I liked the anime more than the manga but I still have it and its a really cool manga the art is great its just one of those stories where you like it or not, not everyone likes it. but if you like the second volume go get the first one.
I'd say that FLCL manga drawn pretty simple and weird. i like anime a lot more. and if you like anime also i'd recommend Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (pretty funny, 13 episodes) and Dead Leaves (that's weed, 1 movie). thay are both from gainax so you don't have to worry about their quality!

I Wouldn't say better, but it's really good. If you're a fan of the anime you really should buy the manga.

I have seen the manga but i wasnt to keen on it. i found that the drawing style was quite confusing and that rally put me off of the manga. i tried reading the manga after i had watched the series to try and find out what the series was about but i found the manga more confusing than the series
I thought the manga made more sense than the series, and I really liked the manga better. No matter what, FLCL was like an anime slapped together by a group of people who were completely high. Anyway, the art style is very appropriete for such a storyline, and the sarcasm of the backgrounds were great.
